Default Remove Steering Wheel

I got this from Techart today. Haven't seen any videos on the 992 on how to remove and install a new steering wheel yet. I still have 80 days before I get the car. Just figured i'd ask if anyone has done this yet.

I have loved TechArt wheels since the early 97 days. Very nice!

If it's anything like the 991/981/718 the most difficult part is getting the air bag out.
The steering wheel in those cars have two holes on each side to release the airbag...you have to push them with something like a Flathead screwdriver to release it.
After that you have access to the torxs bolt that holds the steering wheel and the plug for the steering wheel functions/PDK
Keep in mind you will need a new steering wheel bolt as it's classified as on time use bolt.

Good to know about the bolt, it's just a 1 time use only bolt then I take it? I changed mine on model Telsa Model Y and it was a breeze. I kinda just assumed the Porsche would be more difficult.

Yes...you can buy one from many of the online Porsche Parts dealers like Suncoast Parts.

I also assume you need to disconnect the battery and wait a period of time for the car to discharge? You don't want to set off that airbag.

Yes....you could also get the SRS light ON if you don't disconnect the battery.

Installing it today (not that one as it was returned for awful quality), just the negative side to the battery good enough or positive too just because?

How did this go? Do you have a video that follows how you swapped parts between the two?
