Strange transmission error

Hi... I'm getting the same message for the transmission: Possibly no reverse gear...
Mine displays the error, but everything works ok... The error is random, and sometimes is shown after using the PDF in manual mode.
In the previous cases, the car started showing those messages and then gear box stopped working from one day to another?

Uh Oh. Thats not good. have you been driving after the error message? Are you experiencing a delay when hitting gas for when car moves? That was my first PDK failure and they fixed it. Now 12 months later my PDK failed again. The whole PDK needs to get replaced.

Good luck, sorry buddy.

Hi, yes, I've been driving it.
But it is true, that when the car is cold I need to rev it much more than normal in order to get out of my garage.
I'll set an appointment in the workshop asap.
Thanks

I have about 200 easy miles on my PDK and actually just got online here to research this issue with getting the car moving on initial start.
At first I thought it was a safety feature to keep you from blasting through a garage door or curb.
But just now it was borderline dangerous pulling out of a parking spot. It's like a slipping clutch in a MT.
Will be curious if others have this issue without failure. Its a quirk i could live with...but if its a precursor of failure id rather start the process now and not lose my summer.
anyone else??

I started a thread in the 992 section discussing issues similar to this, which I feel that I have with my 21 992 C2S, since I think it might have something to do with the 992 generation and not just GT3 cars after reading this thread and others and realizing my issues are more complicated than I originally thought (a series of errors showing up on the screen, and then they go away after, restarting the car and me thinking nothing of it and finishing my loops home ----> service visits result in nothing wrong couldnt reproduce errors ----> me coming online and realizing jerking/kangarooing/delay on accel is not a feature and the errors might be more indicative of something else)
I'm not sure if this thread I made will be helpful for anyone with these issues, but feel free to check it out
Your 992 having/had any of a laundry list of issues? Chime in here... - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums

So I will add myself to the list of new owners who’ve experience a transmission failure. Got the same message regarding “possibly no reverse gear” multiple times. First occurred with ~1500 miles on the odometer. The car seemed to operate without any problems or symptoms that others here reported. Diagnosed as a failed temperature sensor inside the PDK but my dealer “said” Porsche recommended replacing the value control unit first. 3 weeks of repair time and 20min after picking it up I got the same error message. Next step was to replace the transmission which was just finished a couple days ago. Cautiously holding my breath…and back to re-breaking in the car

I get my car back on Friday after 5 weeks for a PDK replacement. One question I had was break-in. Did the dealer tell you that you have to do the whole break in procedure all over again? Same deal 1000 miles?

I didn’t pursue it. I wrangled a loaner for the 3.5 weeks they took to obtain and replace the valve control unit so I didn’t think compensation was called for. I was able to use the car despite the errors while I waited for the transmission to come in. I was car-less for the 2 weeks it took them to replace the transmission. Not sure if that would qualify for compensation

I settled on 300 mile break in and then let it rip.

Lots of good info in this thread and sorry to hear about the headaches you all are dealing with.
One question: I always assumed that break in was for the engine. I didn’t realize that it was also for the transmission. What’s the logic with that?
