992 winged v. touring orders
Interested to see what the ratio is currently with RL owners.
Did you order a winged or touring?

someone more important than me got the touring allocation. It was this or nothing. I was kind of on the fence either way.

Just talked to a dealer in NorCal. They get about 2 Tourings for each 10 allocations. If they sell 6 to 8 watches, they get another ‘bonus’ allocation…that’s so weird…

Casual observation seems to suggest that for MY2022 allocations, Winged to Touring is ~ 3-1 ratio (at least at my dealer that has been the case). How that translates into RL member representation is a whole 'nother story. Touring here.

I think that's in the right zone (3-1) but it might be even worse. I feel fairly lucky to have a MY22 touring allocation.

I find it a bit weird how in this iteration of the Touring vs the 991.2 gen, the 992 T has its own body/model #, and as such separate allocation. Call me a conspiracy theorist, but that is one sure way for PAG to 'control' the ratio. I suspect if it were like the 991.2 where Touring was literally just a configurator option and as long as you had a GT3 allocation you can spec one as such, we would be seeing far more 992 Tourings. There is probably some 'inflection point' (T vs Wings) that would give PAG some 'discomfort', so this gives them a way to manage such.

I reckon behind all of our collective luck was also some degree of hard effort, but yes, good to be both hard working and lucky

I was offered a winged, but am holding out for my first choice...Touring

Interesting result. I wonder if it reflects the fact that the Touring is the more rare car rather than what most would actually want. Every single Porsche rep I have spoken to, has been very open about the notion that the Touring was more sought after and enquired about. Have talked to recipiants of winged cars who wished for a Touring, but no Touring recipiants wishjng for a winged car. Can't help but wondering if the result would be the same if it was 100% preference rather than based on the fact that the winged cars was what they got because they could not get a Touring.

@halfmonkey database spreadsheet gives a clearer picture of confirmed allocations here on RL. Ratio seems to be more inline with the comments compared to where the poll sits right now.

I’ve had two winged GT3’s and one 991.2 touring. I have a 992 touring coming in sometime in March but for purely esthetic reasons, I think the 992 winged GT3 looks better than the 992 touring. I felt the opposite with the 991 series. The swan neck spoiler and mini ducktail really look great, purposeful and you instantly know it’s a GT3. For most of my driving though, I like the stealth look of the touring appearing like every other 911, no spoiler blocking my rear view since I’m always driving kinda fast, and I’m older, don’t track anymore and I feel like a poser with a big spoiler. I’m thrilled to be getting the touring but if it accidentally came in with a wing I’d still have a permanent smile on my face everyday I was lucky enough to be driving it.

I had a new 991.2 Touring but wanted and got a winged 992 gt3. I think the 992 gt3 looks best with the wing
