Yachting blue metallic Touring build

Looking back I really like the Chalk with YB if it fits your lifestyle and use case. Chalk on buckets is an amazing combo for some reason...
Approx 7K to upgrade from black full leather deviated to EM interior deviated (to get Chalk).

I have a Yachting Blue Macan GTS (don't snicker, it was dealer stock and sat on the lot for over a year before I bought it for a major deal when you could still not get laughed out of a dealership for offering 18% under sticker) with chalk interior.
I am going to give you my opinion based on yachting blue ownership. Don't shred me. Just some things to think about.
- YB is a very subtle color. I like it but I would not do a gt3 in it. Disclaimer - I don't wash my cars often and when my car is dirty, it just seems like a muted blue. You really need to keep your car clean to appreciate the color (and I don't). For most people, it just looks like plain blue car. It is much much more muted in person than renders or in photos.
- Chalk is the way to go on the interior. YB is very subtle and you need a lighter color interior to really make it pop. Your first render was spot on. FYI - I don't clean the interiors of my car either and am really impressed by how well chalk has stood up with sweat, kids, and pets.
- More people comment on the interior color than the exterior color. Again, its pretty plain for a PTS color. It sure aint Azzuro California. But the point is that chalk rocks - its is an amazing color for an interior. I love it.
- Can you live with the gen 1 panamera stigma? Everyone will answer this different. I do remember when this car came out and fell in love with YB (the launch color).
- Subaru has the exact same blue and get bummed out when I see Forrester's with the same color as my car.
Again, YB is a good color but I think there are so many better colors in the PTS range. Just my opinion.
Now, that said, I think that a touring lends itself to a lighter metallic. From that perspective, YB is a good choice.
Last one from the peanut gallery. - go chalk and silver trim if you do go YB.

As we all know, color is a personal opinion. And I take your point about keeping it clean - lol.
For me, It's definitely not a shouty color, which is appealing to me in a Touring. If you want a metallic - not solid or pearl - it's the more sophisticated blue of the PTS range. I tried them all on for size, but I liked it best when touring colors at PEC. Pantone 29C and Meer were my other two consideration, and I considered aqua and cobalt - both awesome but loud blues! But in the end I wanted a metallic. Guess I am old school now in a world of pearls.
YB has a lot of swing/range in light, looks awesome with black accents, and holds more interest to me than my prior Agate and Silver cars. Subtle it is, however. Some of us prefer that on a 911. Personally I would likely go "loud" on a Winged car - Python looks amazing, then feel like I stuck out everywhere besides the track.
Also stands out in daylight.
Love the shimmer under fluorescent lights
We do agree however that it's stealthiness needs enhancement in the accent colors. I am stalled on interior, I wish Porsche offered more choices for EM interiors. I am looking for that pop, but they are boring or common colors on one end, wild on the other. Cognac may hold some pizzaz, mostly due to its iconic role on Speedsters.
I will likely go black with a bright stitch ultimately to "sport" it up.
As far as Panemera, that's petty to me. You could say the Winger cars share a VW color too, silly as colors look VERY different on different body shapes/sizes and lines. Perhaps this will get some, but so would getting Ocean blue or Night blue which has been on dozens of model/year combos - so at some level that line of thinking fails dramatically!

You can find positives and negatives about EVERY SINGLE PTS COLOR. I’m after subtle but beautiful and I do prefer metallic colors for the Touring for some reason, at least on the 992 and for me right now personally.
I get tired of loud and shouty. Subtle colors tend to stay longer in the garage. I think the greens have been done to death, in addition to most of the blues aside from yachting. I lean towards greys and this is a good grey blue.
Please everyone weigh in on this new rendering from Anthony at Carrara Designs (highly recommended btw) with the “holyrood” tartan from P1 — this or the last tartan I posted?

Meer is quite "common" on Tourings - little too purple grey for me, but very nice. Pantone surprised me, and almost won - with how Teal it shows up. Wife thought it too bright

Hi Chris, Unfortunately, you would need to hire a local automotive upholsterer to do the work for you. They will likely remove the seats in order to remove the skins, and then replace that center section of fabric.

I completely get it. Take my YB thoughts with a grain of salt - I bought a YB car. I just wanted to provide a thoughtful counterpoint to "YES, go do it!".
Again, I would high recommend chalk interior. Probably what I like most about the car. Sheeet - lipstick would look good as well (ha ha).
A few pics. 40k hard miles. Very few washings. Very very very happy with how the chalk leather held up.

For those with non LWB, here is what I intend to do. I plan on purchasing 992 seats from salvage and having them recovered with centers from P1. The sport plus and 18 ways are the same as a regular 992. Just get the seats perfect and swap them out with the normal seats.
Its a pretty simple process for a quality auto upholsterer.

@shack993 Perhaps it's not your fav color but I think you Macan looks awesome.

With the tan/brown interior I think your spec is near perfect. Looks fantastic. Have a 992 Turbo S incoming in Gentian Blue and Black and Cohiba brown interior, but if I had the patience for a PTS color I would have gone with Yachting Blue Metallic as well.
