Porsche please stop dealership price gouging.

I don’t know about more desirable. I got mine luckily. Hopefully I build better relationship with my sales rep and this pans out with access to gt cars and more down the line. However the thought of going through this again is kinda saddening, so I’m actually starting to look at other brands (Ferrari, have an order for Tesla roadster). I’m not going to put in this much effort again.
So far so good though. They actually offered me the gts and asked about interest in rs, so I’m hopeful.

Buy a 911 GTS instead or pony up. The market is the market

"Dealerships that price gouge should be penalized by Porsche. If a dealership is reported to be price gouging their GT allotments should be taken away and given to dealerships that do not price gouge, simple. This will ultimately build more brand passion, enthusiasm, and loyalty."
This precisely is how Rolex controls their authorized dealers. AD's can only sell at MSRP. Why Porsche can't do the same? Well Rolex is not a for profit company maybe the ultimate answer.

Honestly, it's a supply and demand problem driven by the fact that Porsche isn't listening to customers saying we want more natually aspirated driving experiences. Some love the Turbos, and that's great, but Turbo power isn't very differentiated from cars like BMWs for example that make 675hp. It's a market research and product manageement problem, driven by external regulation and the belief that electric cars are climate friendly. Bring one synthetic fuels - gotta love real innovation!
I applaud your open letter - the solution will need to be mutli-faceted, and include opening more dealerships in high demand territories, and selling directly to consumers via the web.

Dear Santa,
I have been a good boy this year. I am begging you, please give me a GT3 allocation at MSRP.

Dear Johnny,
Sorry, no GT3 allocation this year at MSRP. Time to grow up. Santa isn’t real and life isn’t fair. It takes time, money, effort, and a little luck to get what you want. I can however get you a huge discount on a new 2020 Taycan. Whoops, I forgot, you only pay the MSRP for new cars.

The entire dealership industry is completely unnecessary. Tesla has proven this. Can someone please explain why car manufacturers dont see this? Sell direct to the consumer and take all the profit. Then all you have to do is turn existing dealerships into dedicated service centers and you are good to go.

Not being a jerk, but no one complains when they buy at 10% under MSRP. Raising MSRP doesn’t fix a thing because ADM will get the new MSRP. GT2RS and Speedsters ran close to 300k MSRP and many had ADM’s so that logic is flawed and Porsche will not make a GT3 for everyone that wants one. The GT cars were a treat for their top customers, and now everyone wants a trophy the math will never work. My buddy at Porsche came by for a beer last Thursday and he laughed and said people just shouldn’t pay it not our problem.

Fact is, when you have 10 buyers for every car, some people ain’t gonna get no Coke. If you want one, pay for it. If not, don’t. Just stop whining about how the world owes you a car at MSRP.
