Ditto. I have heard similar things. If you trade in almost any GT car you will move to the top of the 992 GT3 list.

Not true across the board: Porsche of Austin does not care about what you are trading: its gt3 to the highest bidder. :-(

I've been lucky i guess, and they have gone to bat for me on several spectacular good-will warranty repairs.

They've apparently learned from all the Californians taking up residence and overspending

Tired of waiting myself, called up Lamborghini and ordered a RWD Evo a couple months ago. Checked all the options and colors I wanted. Car went into production last month. Like Rolex, the wait is too long and I find myself coming to the realization that if one of my deposits ever came through ( unlikely as it seems ) I would build a flip spec. The Lambo is the next level of car for not much more than a properly spec'd 992 GT3. No waits. No dealer games or adm's. You also get Audi quality and reliability. The NA V10 is quite amazing.

Can you elaborate a little more? I've never tried one, how's the ride compared to the GT3 and Ferrari V8 mid engine?
Cost? Is it a "barebones " spec like the Ferraris? Lead time? Thanks!

Though the GT3 Cup and RSR race cars soldier on with the storied Mezger engine, the new roadgoing GT3 is powered by a derivative of the Carrera S six. While the GT3’s new engine can’t claim a 50-year history or race-proven durability, it does move the needle in the right direction on every quantifiable measure. Chiefly, redline comes 600 rpm later than in the old GT3, now at 9000 rpm, and power is up 40 horsepower to a peak of 475 at 8250 rpm. Reassuring Mezger attributes such as titanium connecting rods, forged aluminum pistons, and a proper dry-sump oiling system have also found their way into the new GT3. The real magic, though, is in the breathed-upon cylinder heads, which now use finger followers between the cams and valves.
And the finger followers is the problem with most of the 2014 - 2015 GT3's.

Same thing with me, although the service has been very good. I am aborting my 992 GT3 allocation search given the craziness and will just enjoy my 718 GT4.

Not accurate

That was true for the 991.1 GT3, not for the 997, nor is it true for the 991.2 and 992 GT3. The engines in these generations are extremely similar, and share 90%+ parts with their motorsport counterparts. The only difference between the cup motor and the 992 GT3 streetcar is that the 992 street car has multiple resonation modes in the intake because it needs variable tuning to improve torque at low RPM, a different exhaust and ECU tuning. The race car does not care about variable intake tuning since it's at high RPM all the time.

The Mezger was retired after the first generation of the 991 Cup and replaced with the engine in the 991.2. The 991.1 GT3 is the black sheep in the family. They rushed that motor, and it never had the stress testing of the design on a race track. Not surprising that it failed in a use case it was not tested for.

Agreed for me as well service at P of Austin: fantastic! Really like the sales guy I always talk with at PA as well (Alex) just owners directives seem to be sell to the highest bidder..... it is what it is.

I am aborting my search after multiple calls and in person conversation.

Picking up new wheels / slicks for my “old” gt3 and will continue to enjoy it till craziness dies.

congrats to those getting msrp though; not personally met one person who got msrp; 30k is best I have heard of.

My SA John from PNH is at Austin now, he told me to keep my relationship at PNH.

It feels more like a Mclaren. My car is on the more loaded side. Carbon brakes, Blu Lemans paint. Full Alcantara interior with matching stitching, Forged wheels. My spec is 256k. I should have it beginning of May at MSRP. Very easy to order. If I would have ordered a few months earlier I could have secured an allocation with a 7% discount. Waiting NEVER works out for me.

Nice. A MC 20 decently loaded will get to that. A 488 GTB '16 with +30k miles would go for that.
I'm going to check the local lambo. Chicagoland is quite crappy for cars, but I'd the policy is MSRP, I gotta try it.
