GT3 Aesthetics?

GT3 Aesthetics?
It is quite probable that the 992 GT3 in an incremental improvement over the predecessor 991.2.
However, does anyone agree that aesthetically, it's a (ahem)... awkward looking design, from it's black goatee on the bow to it's contrivance on the ****?
Is it a form follows function or a dog's dinner?

BUT... I have said on the forum many many times... In photos the 992 does not photograph well. Kind of looks awkward on a screen... Then every time I see a 992 in person my jaw drops. Especially the 992 Turbo S.
So, you may be right about the looks but I bet in real life It's a stunner.

991.1/991.2 looked better.
I'd still take the 992 over those, if I was getting a GT3.

Here's your first post on this board yesterday:
I agree with ICANTHELPIT. You are a troll.
"Hey, if you pass on that GT3 for $30K over MSRP, send it along.
Stopped into a dealer last week and they were asking 115K over MSRP...
Instant gratification ain't cheap these days"
Now you're saying a day later that the car has a 'black goatee" that looks like a butt? But you're willing to spend over $250k for a "contrivance on the ****," if you are to be believed.Stopped into a dealer last week and they were asking 115K over MSRP...

Now looks wise, I definitely think the GT cars are the good looking 992's. The regular 992 front is fine, but the rear does not work for me. The GT definitely cleaned this up. For me the last properly pretty 911 was the 997.2. The regular 992 is a bit like the 996 for me, and outside of my GT3T, I can't see myself getting one.

Can't speak for the performance as I'm yet to drive the new GT3, but never the less, its track times and reviews suggest much more than a small change. They built the car with a proper double wishbone suspension this time, and that matters a lot.

Some people have opinions, and you created a thread asking for them. Problem is, I don't think anyone on the GT team at Porsche is on Rennlist to provide insight on why the design is the way it is. There are videos out there that touch on why.
Here's mine:
At the end of the day, it is what it is. If it doesn't work for someone, they can either:
1. wait for the refresh, if one is coming
2. design and produce a replacement front-end
3. accept that it is what it is
4. pout

Creates thread asking subjective opinions, gets subjective opinions, wow touchy group!
Until you've seen the car in person, reserve judgment. The same cycle happens every single time for the majority of enthusiasts;
1) Porsche releases newly designed GT3
2) Most people "my previous gen looks better, new gen looks bad for X/Y/Z reasons"
3) Some time passes, new car is seen in different configurations and in the wild, most people "it is really growing on me"
4) More time passes, most people "I love the new car"
