GT3 Aesthetics?
It is quite probable that the 992 GT3 in an incremental improvement over the predecessor 991.2.
However, does anyone agree that aesthetically, it's a (ahem)... awkward looking design, from it's black goatee on the bow to it's contrivance on the arse? Is it a form follows function or a dog's dinner? |

Then every time I see a 992 in person my jaw drops. Especially the 992 Turbo S. So, you may be right about the looks but I bet in real life It's a stunner. |
991.1/991.2 looked better.
I'd still take the 992 over those, if I was getting a GT3. |
Here's your first post on this board yesterday:
"Hey, if you pass on that GT3 for $30K over MSRP, send it along. Now you're saying a day later that the car has a 'black goatee" that looks like a butt? But you're willing to spend over $250k for a "contrivance on the arse," if you are to be believed.Stopped into a dealer last week and they were asking 115K over MSRP... Instant gratification ain't cheap these days" I agree with ICANTHELPIT. You are a troll. |

I don't post this opinion here because I don't want to piss anyone off...
Is that because you know it should be posted in the 992 "GT3" forum instead? :icon107: |

The GT definitely cleaned this up. For me the last properly pretty 911 was the 997.2. The regular 992 is a bit like the 996 for me, and outside of my GT3T, I can't see myself getting one. |

Can't speak for the performance as I'm yet to drive the new GT3, but never the less, its track times and reviews suggest much more than a small change. They built the car with a proper double wishbone suspension this time, and that matters a lot.

Opinions and a____, everyone has one. Some people have opinions, and you created a thread asking for them. Problem is, I don't think anyone on the GT team at Porsche is on Rennlist to provide insight on why the design is the way it is. There are videos out there that touch on why. Here's mine: At the end of the day, it is what it is. If it doesn't work for someone, they can either: 1. wait for the refresh, if one is coming 2. design and produce a replacement front-end 3. accept that it is what it is 4. pout |
I can’t wait to get mine in a few days. I could care less what others think. Been waiting since I was in middle school and I’m no longer a spring chicken.

Creates thread asking subjective opinions, gets subjective opinions, wow touchy group!
Until you've seen the car in person, reserve judgment. The same cycle happens every single time for the majority of enthusiasts; 1) Porsche releases newly designed GT3 2) Most people "my previous gen looks better, new gen looks bad for X/Y/Z reasons" 3) Some time passes, new car is seen in different configurations and in the wild, most people "it is really growing on me" 4) More time passes, most people "I love the new car" |
Having owned a 2019 gt3rs and now a 2022 gt3, the gt3 is a much better car in almost all regards. When you see the 992 gt3 in person you will like it, when you get to drive the 992 gt3 you will love it!

I had a 997S, 991.1gt3, 991.2gt3 and now a 992gt3. I loved the looks of all and the way they drove. Guys the 992gt3 is streets ahead in terms of driving and I think it looks great as well.

I can confirm this as well. I LOVED my 991.2 GT3 but this is better. In every way but ONE (the sound at idle). And the driving improvement is not small, it's massive. I have owned and driven many exotics and nothing carves a corner as naturally and effortlessly as this beast. As for looks, I love the swan neck wing. Add some top stripes and even the snout looks good. Sorry, but I'm in love....

Anyone that thinks the 991.1 or .2 version of the GT3 looks better than the 992 version is someone who did not get a 992 GT3 allocation.

#TruthHurts. Am I getting one? Yes. Does it mean that I will say (because will be the new toy) that is a cleaner/nicer design than the 991? Never. I like both but 991 has a cleaner design from all the angles and a better sound, 992 is a step up in handling with a more comfy/touring interior, btw no wrong decision with any GT3 generation. |

This is my first Porsche GT car like a few on here I have owned some Pcars G50, 996, 991.1(GTS), 992 C2s. I picked mine up on Weds this week and when I got home I literally sat on my drive way in front of it admiring how in creditable it looked in person. Pictures really do not do it justice. I have more people come up and look at it and admire it than I ever did with my R-8. There are plenty of ascetically pleasing cars out there but, as it was stated if you buying this for ascetics then it is not car for you. I have only 60 miles on it so, I can only say wow, the difference between my 992 C2s. I will give feedback more I drive it.

Felt the same until I saw them in person. They are stunning.
But that doesn’t make the 991.2 bad either. I still love the design of the 991.2. It has just the right amount of sharpness to keep looking stunning now. By itself, it’s still a head turner. But when parked next to a 992 it does feel old. Time will tell. |
I ordered mine in black. Awesome. Other than my 2RS I like it more than the other GT cars I’ve had.

It took a bit to grow on me. Love it now. Very aggressive. Way more aggressive then a 991 GT3
|
There is no "best", just opinions.
I thought I liked the 991.2 better initially... but now it looks too "rounded off" and "soft"... and dare I say "dated". I like the harder lines (hood) more angular approach the 992 has. |
Mine arrives Dec 6th & I am coming from a 2019 carrera T / Since the first release of the 992 I have enjoyed the design. Seeing it in videos running the ring has made me dream. I have saved nonstop for something and worked very hard to achieve it. When I saw one in person few weeks ago it was emotional & I am like a kid waiting on Santa. Beauty is in the eyes of the man. For me it’s a blessing to even have one coming.
