Unless you’re an Australian living overseas. It’s not that they won’t let you, they’ve just made it virtually impossible. And once you get there, you can’t leave. Like the Hotel California.

ScoMo’s a window licker. Pass it on.

It’s easier to fly to Germany and back then it is to actually buy a GT3, I’ll do Mercedes in the spring I think.

Just got this email from PCNA:Good Morning,

After speaking with our PAG counterparts this morning, we have several important updates. Due to ongoing supply chain issues and covid-19 regulations, we are forced to reschedule your European Delivery. Furthermore, winter wheels should be added to your vehicle if this option was not previously selected. We can only strongly recommend you do this, however, German police are extra vigilant and will impound your vehicle if you are stopped. I’m extremely sorry to be the bearer of bad news and we’ll do our best to make this an amazing Porsche experience. If you wish to cancel European Delivery, we can have your vehicle sent to the dealership or to PEC Atlanta/PEC LA for a no charge delivery experience. Please let me know how you would like to proceed at your earliest convenience.

.....and here is a follow up email after I asked about Leipzig delivery availability.

Unfortunately, Leipzig is not an option either. The vehicle cannot be registered or inspected until 100% complete.. With the backlog due to Covid-19 the registration will take 19 business days, thus pushing the delivery back. We will not charge the dealer or you for the European Delivery or any cancellation fees. My best advice would be to cancel, as we do expect new travel restrictions any day.

Subshooter - sorry to see that happen. I know from your posts how much you were looking forward to ED. I hope, at a minimum, they can get you your car ASAP if you choose to take delivery in the US.

I cut that out of the email but they gave me 13 dates to choose from in Nov and Dec. I am probably going to do PEC-ATL now....debating with GF.

Well, that sucks. With all the uncertainty of COVID, I wonder if it would not just be best to get it home sooner rather than later.

If they can't get a car that was designated for ED completed on time, that does not bode well for others getting their car completed any time soon...

Just locked yesterday. Start production Sep 24th, Finish Oct 8th. It was supposed to start Oct 1st but that changed about two weeks ago without changing finish date (weird?). Completion date has not changed in three months.

So the bust is that there isn't enough time between completion and your prior ED data of Oct 28th?

Are they thinking your car will complete by Oct 8, or are they indicating that date is doubtful too.

Well this sucks. I know how much people look forward to ED - it's something on the top of the list of experiences once I'm not dragging around 3 kids.

I just shifted to PEC-ATL. It was getting way too hard and too much uncertainty. My GF and I have work constraints and we just couldn't make it work very well. It's fine. Most people never get to experience ED and I have already had a couple. I hope to be back with the 992 GT3 RS if I get an allocation.

On the positive side, I am going to hit the Tail of the Dragon on my drive back to NOLA from ATL. Maybe I will find some German beer and Schnitzel along the way! PCNA is predicting a mid-Nov delivery in ATL.

On the cynical side (and this is my prediction), my car's production date will be delayed. It won't have TPMS and a FOB now that it is not ED constrained....and I will end up getting my car in Jan or Feb. I will post back here if my production date changes. I also have a Ford Bronco on order and that rollout, scheduling, constant false promises on production has been shocking to say the least. It's the current times I guess.

Exactly what I plan to do! Except Houston instead of NOLA as the final destination.

Sorry to hear about the spoiled ED plans. As you mentioned, hopefully you have another attempt with the RS next year!
