Default Maintenance plan

Hey everyone. I'm taking delivery of my GT3 in a few days, but my dealer mentioned some Porsche "prepaid maintenance plan" that I can purchase. I didn't ask how much but I was just going to look at it when I sign papers and decide.

Is there some sort of maintenance plan that you guys are going to get? He told me it's good for any Porsche dealer service anywhere. This is my first Porsche so I'm not sure.

Don't buy anything in that finance office. Smile. And say no thank you.

Got it. I assume the Factory warranty is quite good as well.

Maintenance plans and their costs have been covered on here (RL); both pro and con. Please search.

Doing my own maintenance on my GT3 was one of my favorite parts of owning it (well, way after driving it). It's mostly very easy and satisfying - gives you an appreciation for how high quality most of the parts are as well as the design to incorporate them (compared to other brands and other Porsches).

I'll request that this thread gets deleted if you can quote me a full thread that was created regarding maintenance PLANs specifically in the last 2 years. I just went through four pages of search results with only the word maintenance, and not one thread title involved or included that word.

I bought one with my 991.2 GT3RS. IIRC, I did 3 years prepaid. It actually does save you money if you plan to keep the car that long (which I have). I’m sure that some bean counters will be along to explain that I could have made more putting that money in the stock market or something.

Whatever, it was a small enough amount that it was six of one, half a dozen of the other for me. I could have flipped a coin on the decision.

I got the +3 plan on my wifes Macan. Just to simplify things for her. When the dash notice comes on she just takes it to the dealer/ picks up a loaner.

I’ve read many of the “ add ons” are highly negotiable. I’m considering the rim an tire insurance. In our case, the first maintenance is included. You may have up until that point to decide on the prepaid for the remainder. I’d ask. Similar to the extended warranty, where you have 4 years to decide…..

I did the rim and tire insurance for the Cayenne and it's already paid for itself (multiple flats and wife scuffed a wheel). I would have to see what that would cost on a GT3 but I know those tires are steep, the wheels even more so.

Yes, I agree. In my opinion, all the more reason to get it….

I am totally with you on this point. I bought a lift two months ago with a rolling jack, a bunch of tools, and I've already watched about 20 DIY videos. The next maintenance is my Boxster's front brakes...... I really can't wait to do this.

Off topic, but when we bought my wife's RSQ8 in very late 2020, I refused the prepaid maintenance plan and they insisted on including it for free by reducing the purchase price. They must have had some serious sales incentives. Doubt I will get the same offer on the GT3.

I think these pre-paid maintenance plans are for some buyers that want to roll the costs into their car loan.
