Which one of you upset AP?
#16
I just saw AP’s post....and the comments, geesh.
I have not followed this closely, but isn’t shark blue the same blue (cornflower) from VW? Story can be true, but if the design people gave the car the same blue as already found on VW’s, the story of an original blue color is watered down a bit, is it not?
Not necessarily AP’s fault, but that part seems to left out of the entire conversation.
All the people on IG saying RL people are haters, idiots, not true enthusiasts....
Again - there would be no questions about the story if it were not the same color as what is available through VW?

Agree with seis-speed and raymort above. Like many of you, I saw the (kind of awkward) online debut of the 992 GT3. AP recounted the origins of the Shark Blue color. Even if his, let's call it, "nautical epiphany" is a true story (I believe him), it is also true that he left out a key point which is that the color Porsche came up with to match the boat he saw is cornflower blue, a color already being used for VW cars. So yeah, he told the truth, but his story made it sound like this was a special color, developed specifically for the 992 GT3. It wasn't. It was re-named and chosen as the debut color for the 992 GT3 but it most definitely was not developed specifically for the GT3.
Somewhat off topic, but personally, I think AP should be more concerned about winged GT3 owners removing the wing and driving the car at high speed. Remember Paul Walker's death in a Porsche? His daughter sued Porsche for wrongful death even though the driver was driving recklessly. What happens if someone removes the wing and is in a fatal car accident? Who's fault is it? The driver? Or Porsche, for creating a car which allowed for wing removal which, in removing the wing, changes the stability of the car at speed? AP, if you are reading this, I hope your GT legal team makes it clear in the user guide that wing removal is not endorsed by Porsche and can lead to outcomes including but not limited to death.

If I were him, I would refrain from this quickly disintegrating forum. I'll certainly be posting less from now on.

And you wonder why people ignore you? Here's an idea to try out. Maybe post more things in your signature line to bring more diversity & like-minded people to your threads.

ahem, cough…
2 phrases,
flappy paddles are for grandma
magnesium roof is lighter than carbon
best marketing phrases ever
so, don’t fault me for agreeing with the German efficiency of charging for a vw color

On a Porsche 911 GT forum? Definitely upper middle class to wealthy individuals, almost all with bachelors degrees or more.
Might be a bit different on planet 9 or in the RL threads for 944s or early Boxsters.
