Question Later Allocations for GT3s

Hello all, long time lurker around here, and finally posting. I was just wondering about peoples thoughts on when the ADMs to the GT3s will ease off. I dont need the car right away and am willing to wait. This would be my first new car ever and first time ever ordering a car from a dealer. For people who have been doing this longer, how long do we have to wait before we can get GT3s at sticker. Live in northern California and all dealers withing 4 hrs of me want big markups over sticker even for 2022/2023 cars.

Please forgive any bad grammar or etiquette mistakes.

Going to be hard to tell, but I think we will see signs of where it will head late in the year. I'd get your name on a list regardless just in case things change. When you mention dealers within 4 hours want big markup, what is big markup?

ADMs might decrease towards the end of the run. But given it's norcal, it might not happen. For 991.2 and 991.1 GT3s, there were ADMs to the very end in norcal if you wanted to spec your car as a first time buyer unless you a) knew the dealer GM or b) were on lists ahead of time in years. The previously MSRP dealers in california have dissapeared.

I’m currently #10 on a list with a fairly large dealer and they are charging 20k adm for a Touring allocation.

My guess is that the 992.1 GT3 will run for 3 years (similar to 991.1) and my build will be a 2023 MY.

At the end of the 991.2 GT3 production run, I was offered a new car for 20k adm (this was in SoCal).

I’m not sure how many 992.1 GT cars Porsche is planning to produce but if numbers are similar to 991.2, I would expect ADM’s for the entire production run if you are new customer for a CA dealership.

However, I have also heard rumors that Porsche plans to build as many 992 GT cars as possible and ADM’s will drop off after the first year or so. So who knows.

The deposit is 20k or the ADM is only 20k?

If the ADM is only 20k for a touring, that’s low for the current market!

Agaign, look at 991.2s selling for 30k over MSRP used right now.

Actually, 40-80k over now with a check of offers this morning.

ADM is 20k. I’m also on a list with no ADM (dealer won’t charge it but they want you to agree to a ROFR for sale/trade on the 992 GT3).

I’m also no longe located in CA so I’m dealing with a smaller market.

Dont forget, even if Porsche is planning to put out as many GT cars as they can make, they can barely make and delivery NORMAL 992's as well...with the chip shortages, Id imagine these will be hard for at LEAST 2 years.

I'm hoping that since Porsche sells a relatively limited quantity of 911s during "normal" years compared to VWs and SUVs that the lacking chips would be diverted to their more profitable lines

Let’s hope not! The GT3 is not a profit maker like the Macan…

Glad CA got things sorted out quickly.

I don't think PDK only cars in CA are going to help availability or reduce ADMs there. For every 1 person who drops the manual build, there are +9 buyers ready to scoop it up.

I doubt many will drop their allocation. They will either spec a PDK (and possibly flip it) or move down on the list until MT is available. We may also start seeing this happen in non-CA areas if MT is limited for 2021 models as the configurator says...

With the chip shortage lasting a year or so - this will likely be a de facto limited run of GT3s.

when you say "later" allocation what does this mean? with all the productions delays , I already put a deposit down and it doesnt seem like ill get my car until the end of 2023 if I even get one......

This is tough. If it's one thing the pandemic taught us, is that life is short. Some people might get sick of it and bail out.
