I took delivery at Zuffenhaussen and drove it to the Nurburgring for three laps in the pouring rain. Beautiful blue skies the morning we left...

That was the only "con" I could find going Leipzig, it's geographically further from the 'Ring and Spa

Given your timing (and having picked up a car in the same week a few years back) I might suggest you zip on over to Munich to enjoy the festivities of Oktoberfest.... its like "when in rome" but "when in bavaria in late september do as the bavarians do". I'm so jealous you'll have a blast.

Completely guessing at this point by I just received my commission # this morning and went V70 on my build. I'm spec'ing PTS and a few CXX items (which I'm now scheduling consultation for given I have commission #). Likely push my build timing to March-June. Should be decent weather over there if April-June

I think Oktoberfest has been canceled for the second year in a row. While Zuffenhausen is closer to the Ring, some may prefer a longer drive to help with the recommended 1,500 km break-in protocol...

Both locations are enjoyable (done ED at each). Can't go wrong with either. The factory tour in Zuffenhausen is better, since that's where they build all the sports cars (the trucks and sedans are built in Leipzig). The track in Leipzig is not great, but you get to put a little wear and tear on Porsche's car right away (without worrying about break-in).

Leipzig is more convenient if you wish to visit Prague and/or fly into Berlin, while Zuffenhausen is closer to things like the Black Forest and Frankfurt airport (Stuttgart airport too).

I'm booked for October 26th at Zuffenhausen, assuming my production completion date holds. Once it hits V250 status, we'll be able to nail down a date, and I'll make travel plans. By the sounds of it they are shooting to have the full experience available by then.

One thing that may make your decision easier, is the limited dates available at Leipzig. They had only 4 appointments available in October, and all were booked, Nov/Dec are looking to be just as limited.

I was able to secure Oct 12 in Leipzig. Hope it’s holds.

Leipzig it's a mini track, only exciting if you've never been on a track in your life. Much further away.. Stuttgart better option for every other reason.

I've done both also and agree with Grant on all points. If it is your first ED, I would do Stuttgart since that is where all the 911s are made. It says Stuttgart on our emblems and not Leipzig for a reason. . Lot more history there. Once you've done the museum and factory, no sense in a repeat in my opinion. I could never get tired of a track but museums and factories......meh. Leipzig also has a factory tour which is cool too. Just for their SUVs and Sedans though.

Zuffenhausen has the museum.
For my 2017 ED at Leipzig, it was only my wife and I in the car while on track. No instructor. Lead/follow protocol since there were 6 of us doing ED and they had us on radios. It may have been set up this way since we were doing a Group Delivery which Porsche had done on a few occasions (way cooler BTW). I'm gong back to Leipzig in September to do it again in a GT3.

I believe you can also drive to the other factory and do the tour too.

Just noticed something on the configurator - when you select Euro delivery, the tires change from Michelins to Pirellis

Edit - wrote that backwards - Changes to Michelins when selecting Euro delivery. (may only apply to touring)

The tires change on the rendering when you select either of the Euro delivery options.

Thanks! I just tried and saw Michelin sidewall both with and without Zuffenhausen delivery - will be interesting to see what happens for mine…
