Production Milestone Dates for my 992 GT3
I got my commission number today for a GT3 at MSRP. It's a June build and I wanted to share the milestone dates with the forum as I think they are interesting. Note all the 6/25 dates in the pic below which are unusual from my past builds (normally it takes a week in the body shop). I am not sure what that means (if anything) and if it is related to the chip shortage and maybe these dates are just place holders or not..... I also got the same 9/17 delivery date that others mentioned.
They couldn't submit me for European Delivery because of the pandemic but I am going to try and change that over the next couple of months. Looks like my lock date isn't until 6/11. I recall in another thread that someone submitted for European Delivery without issue.
I've been on a waiting list with money down for two years at two different dealerships because I had moved from Delaware to NOLA. I was honest with both about being on two lists and who they were with. My local dealership where I service my current Porsches tried to squeeze me for ADM after previous commitments for MSRP. I politely and professionally declined and stated that I understood their business decision but part of the business is focusing on local customers and following through on previous commitments. Porsche of the Mainline who never originally committed to me for MSRP came through for me this morning. I got a text from my SA who I previously bought two other cars from and within 1 hour, I had a commission number. No BS as usual from them. V200 baby! I am super excited!

Here is my spec: http://www.porsche-code.com/PN65EY12
Of course we all agonize over our spec. For me, I wanted a light weight track weapon that looked like a motorsports car. I have two other Porsches which I plan to keep that have all of the nice comfort and aesthetic features. I ordered a fire extinguisher over full leather. White over PTS since I plan on getting chips in my paint as I try to pass the other guys on a track. LWB seats, bigger fuel tank etc.
I did compromise on a few things that were not track focused: Bose (to listen to music on the way to the track), 6MT because the car is about enjoyment and experiences and I know I am not going to be professionally racing. I got some colored seat belts etc. I also needed the FAL just to get over the small lip in my driveway. Other than that, it is pretty bare bones. $178k.

My SA gave me the commission number. I asked him to send me a print out or screen shot of the tracking tool within the Porsche Sales and Vehicle Management software that they use. Without a commission number, you do not have an allocation. To me, a commission number is FAR better evidence that you actually have a car than any buyers order, check cashed or verbal.

Huge congrats to you!! Very tasteful spec, with none of the fluff. Bravo!
my $0.02 - Only thing I would add is the dimming mirrors. Sitting at a stop light with a truck behind you sucks without them. Won't matter if mostly for the track

Very happy for you Subshooter. And the 992 GT3 Forum is a much better place because of the knowledge you share with us, and the style in which you carry yourself. Very helpful & very refreshing.

Thank you. I have never owned a GT3 and infact I have never even driven one. I do a lot of Porsche events though and drive with them quite often. Their sound is intoxicating. I can't wait! I hope the OPF isn't too much of a damper on the sound.
