This has happened to me in the past for one of my BMW's.
This thread is so old! I've put 2500 miles on my car already. Good advice though.

Default Commission number

I had a 2022 Porsche 992 commission number (order placed) in my name and waiting for order to lock mid July. Then a few weeks later I received an email from Porsche (no notice from dealership) that my order has been placed and it stated a different commission number…now for a 2023 992 model. I’m highly suspicious of what happened here. I have my theories. Very disappointed as this means a price increase, more risks for getting the options as ordered, and much later build timeframe. Anyone had this happen?

Everything post 7/9 lock got pushed to 2023 models. Call you SA and see the production delay thread. Supposedly not increasing pricing for people who originally had 2022.

I just look d back a few pages thru that thread and couldn't find anything stating where the 2023 will retain 2022 pricing because of a change in commission number. Can you help show us where something says that?

Don't be suspicious, that is exactly how it works. My original build date was Feb, but because of supply chain issues and hung up on CXX/PtS requests it kept on being moved, to the point it is now a MY23 car. That prompted a new commission number. So do not think of it is anything fishy - fully normal as that is how the process works.

As far as price protection (granting MY22 pricing on MY23 cars that have been delayed), doable with the right nudges...

You get it from your SA once he's submitted your build. The build sheet should have the commission number listed on the first line along with MY.
