Default Pilot Sport Cup 2 R Connect tires

I am not sure if I am missing this somewhere.
Is this a option that I can order instead of the regular summer tires.
I understood this would be possible.

It's a dealer-fit option.

Hmm....does that just mean I buy another set of Tires.
I really don't want the regular tires.
I wonder if they will credit the stock tires towards the Cup 2 R's

Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires are delivered with the GT3. You will be able to flog those off easily enough and get a lot more than what the dealer will credit you for.

Cup 2 R's are a softer compound version of the same tire for when you want to get a new record time on the Nurburing.

If your car is dominantly for road use go with the standard Cup 2.

I pretty much use my Car primarly for tracking. I have been typically running on Trofeo R's but not sure they come in this new Size.
.I'm looking forward to trying the Cup 2 R's

The Cup2R are marginally better than the Trofeo R - run 2 sets of rims, one mounted with Cup2 R and one mounted standard Cup 2. To give you a sense of their longevity - you will cook off a set of Cup 2R in a day or less at a track (assuming youre driving hard) and in something like a Tarmac rally the rears will be be cooked out in three days (less than 2000 km of which ~ 33% are special stages e.g. closed roads unlimited).

Cup 2Rs wear quickly, and you'll get the best performance out of them when they are new. Suggestion: take delivery with normal cup 2's and put the break in miles on your car on those tires. Swap on Cup 2Rs when it's time to go to the track. If feasible, a second set of wheels with the 2Rs lets you preserve them for track use.
