Lol the biggest market for the GT3 is "well behaved" people - thats the irony.
I used to like listening to AP but soon came to realise he says pretty much the same thing every release = salesman.
The issue that faces the GT dept. is, as the GT brand has evolved, the cars have become less interesting and less engaging.
Whats exciting about the 992 GT3? the multilink and wider track? or the infotainment and "digital" interior. In comparison, the 991 GT3 was a very clean design, not fussy with great lines all round.
So far the 992 is not doing it for me, perhaps the RS release will change that.

A lot of that will be the tires, the Rs are worth 1.5s per minute, so probably 7s down to better front end track and suspension geometry...................if you wanted a Porsche dedicated track car you would have been better off picking up a Cup Car. A 991 Cup will be significantly quicker than a GT3 round a track, will be around half the price of a 992 GT3 and much, much cheaper to repair.
Works drivers and sticky Cup 2Rs driven round a track at optimal surface temp etc ........ still a great time

I have spent the last two years running Cup2 R and its a lot more than than 3 of 4 s round the ring - I run the Rs on my RS and the difference is definitely ~ 1.5s on a 61s lap time on a track that has 8 corners, the ring has at least 70+ meaningful corners and its the corners where the tires do their work. 3 to 4s is a big under call in my view.
I'm pretty sure the improved front end on the GT3 is delivering the improved times along with the Cup2 Rs - the track and spring rates are much more inline with the .2RS and it was the front end that was underwhelming on the 991.x GT3. The engine doesn't deliver a significant performance advantage on the straights over the outgoing model.
It will be interesting to see how Chris Gebhardt goes and whether they provide him with a car on Cup2 R or Cup2. With the RS you had to order the Cup2 Rs from the dealer - it was a bit of a lottery getting them early on as Michellin make them in batches not continuous production.

Really? Go drive a 996 GT3 and a 991.2 GT3

Indeed. It's a HUGE performance difference. I don't think people really get how amazing it is.
