Default 991.2 Akrapovic exhaust for GTS - anyone going aftermarket

Anyone else plan to order an Akrapovic exhaust for their new 991.2 S/4S/GTS?

I've heard they are likely to sell out immediately when available in a week or two.
I have one reserved.

I read an article (Excellence mag) where a tuner was trying to maximize performance and sound on a .2. He indicated that the aftermarket systems can slightly improve sound but at the expense of performance. Secondly, he added that the OEM cats are as good as any. Likely no gain in going secondary market.

Thoughts....recommendations?

Just curious, how much do the cat and non-cat versions go for? I have an Akra on my .1S and I absolutely LOVE it. It has transformed the car and is the single best mod I've done IMO with the DSC being a very, very close second. Have no idea about .2 version with a turbocharged engine but way back in the day I had a VW 1.8T and I put a Miltek cat-back exhaust on it and it made that little 4-banger roar. So I'm going to bet that Akra knows what they're doing and will produce an awesome product for the .2 like they basically do for any product they make. Too bad the weight savings are relatively negligible.

I think msrp is around 5900.00 USD for slip on.
The full link pipe/cat system is closer to 9k.

It's more about Porsche's headers that really can't be beaten. If porsche did 200 cel cats in our cars from the factory you couldn't do better, but seeing as they are 400 or whatever cel...the 200 does allow for some better breathing. The OEM mufflers are normally heavy but they do tend to have pretty good performance. You're only ever really playing with maybe 1-2 real hp when replacing that stuff...granted the aftermarket ones are normally a lot lighter...so taking that 25-30 lbs off generally has a decent effect as well.

Thanks.
I'll see if i can dig up some of the 'posted' gains on their website. IIRC, the weight difference was only about 10lbs.

Has anyone gone aftermarket yet with 200 cell cats on these cars? What is the experience sound wise?

Not sure if I will be going that route (probably Cargraphic or FVD) or keep it stock (PSE).

I currently have the Akra slip-on installed along with Catbypass pipes.

I've recently bought 200 cell sport cats and will install in the next few weeks.
Stay tuned...

The catbypasses were to much?
I might prefer to only go for the 200c cats. Also price wise.

Of course I am also very curious about your Akra experience.

I put Soul 200 cats on my ‘18 GTS and really love the sound. Normally it is in non Sport mode and to me that is just about perfect sound wise. Slightly more aggressive than ‘normal’ but not overbearing. Hit PSE the button and it becomes more aggressive and sounds great, but not obnoxious. I’ll try to post a sound video in the next day or so. Even with minimal HP gain, I’m glad I bought them.

Too much? Yes and no.
I think its remarkable w/ Akra and catbypass combo....my wife, not so much.
Also, I got a few CEL going Catless. Although, they went away on their own after a couple (5) restarts.
