Considering buying high milleage 991S, need advice on the price
Hello Rennlist,
Originally was looking at buying 997.2 and been looking for a while for a right car, but came up on a launch car (2012.5) 991S w/ PDK with original MSRP of 127k. Car is at 70k miles, what do you think is the fair price for such car? Im looking to use it as a daily driver. Thanks for your input!

I have a 2014 C2S, $121k build, 2 years warranty left, with about 7k miles on it. I'd be lucky if I could get $72-75k for it right now. There is no way a 2012.5 with 70k miles is worth $65k. Only a fool would buy that car with that mileage out of warranty for $65k.

The car OP posted is by far the lowest priced 991S in the country. I found it online. Every other 991S is $12k+ more. The lowest priced 991S I see from a dealer with any spec is $68k.

Sellers price of 55k is fair. If you like the car you should go for it!

FYI, I ran my first 911 to 118,000 miles, then did the valve guides, cam chain tensioners, transmission synchros, and heat exchangers and then drove it to 226,000 miles before selling it. Pretty much it was bulletproof and required little but tires and brake pads. Even at 226K I had the original clutch in it and I drove that car like I stole it.
I'm on my 5th 911 now, and 72K miles wouldn't bother me in the least. Porsche builds a tough car, it's not a Ferrari or an Aston Martin.....

Do the early 991S have an updated PDK or is it the same as in 997.2 cars?
What kind of depreciation would you expect if the car will be driven aprox 18k miles per year for the next 5 years lets say.

The car you're looking for has the exact same specs as mine, same year as well
To contrast prices
I paid 73.5k last April @ 27,888 miles, CPO'd
I have a friend who has a 2012.5 as well with well over 67k miles, never asked how much he paid but his car has had zero issues.

Similar spec to mine, I have 76k. It's a bulletproof car, I wouldn't do an even trade on a car in another color with zero miles.
My thoughts are, more miles is less $ up front, but a little more mx down the road, but you can finance so it's a wash in the long term. Buy the car that's as close to the spec you want as as long as the price is appropriate for the miles.
Buy a high mileage car all day, but not because of the price. If a low mileage car is closer to your perfect spec, just buy that and finance the difference. For instance: would you prefer SPASM? There's no easy way to convert even though it was like a $200 option.
