Its a good value compared to the competition. My only complaint is that the strap is pretty awful.

I looked into compressed air as well - it's a legitimate risk with small of the smaller units (5 gallons and less) that you might inadvertently blow some rusty water and/or oil onto your paint.

If you get the MB, get yourself some comfortable hearing protection as it can be loud.
I use a cordless makita, which I bought because it uses the same batteries as my drill, and have always wondered about switching. Makita does a decent 95% job and I finish a towel.

How do they compare? Worth the extra $200?

I was about to suggest the Master Blaster too, as I just got one (with the 30-foot hose) last month the same week I got my 911. I guess I need to post an intro thread about my car now that I think of it...

But between the Master Blaster and the CR Spotless system (very hard water here in Houston) that I just got from Costco the week before I got the Master Blaster, the washing process is now much easier. I'll never go back. My previous method was the two-bucket method followed by spot blowing of problem/drip areas and wheels with a battery-powered leaf blower, followed by drying with two waffle weave drying towels. But even with that, it's impossible not to get some swirls unless you are extremely careful and/or blot only.

Hands down worth the money - car is 99.9% dry and the drying process is faster.

Default master blaster

I too recommend the master blaster w 30 foot hose. Originally had the regular length hose but it was too short to be considered "maneuverable". Also got an amazing deal, where the 30ft hose came out cheaper than without! Def recommend good ear protection.

Started w the master blaster sidekick but drying an SUV felt like an eternity

Tried using electric leaf blower rated 200 mph but the water wasn't easily directed and I didnt feel in control
