Default Graphite Grey vs Slate Grey?

I am ordering my first 911 and have decided to go for a Grey colour.

My preference is the 50th Tribute "Graphite Grey", however my local dealership is claiming that this colour was limited to the 911-50 production series only. Has anyone on here heard similar?

If this is true, I am looking for similar PTS colours that will be available alternatively, e.g. "Slate Grey". From photos, these colours look almost identical.... Does anyone know the exact difference between the "Graphite Grey" and "Slate Grey" (Steve McQueen) colours?

Many thanks

Wrong sub forum buddy. This is for air cooled 911 from 64-89. 991 forum is in the water cooled section. For what it's worth slate gray looks real good

Both cool colors but I think the Graphite has more green. If you would consider a lighter grey take a look at marble grey from the mid 80's.

Using a PTS slot for a grey color, what a waste.

My car is slate grey and I love it. It was a major part of what made me want the car I bought. I think the 50th grey is a lighter color.

The difference between Graphite Grey and Slate Grey is one is dull, the other is duller.

The world is far beyond its quota for grey cars! Think yellow, mon! Think red, Miami blue.

If you're looking for a great PTS color in grey, I've always loved Fashion Grey... lighter than what you've posted about but looks great in person.

If you want a non PTS color that is around the same shade with blue color shift, take a look at Graphite Blue Metallic. It's a really nice color irl and shifts between blue and grey depending on light/angle.
