I doubt it will be that far out. 997 life cycle was 7 years. Considering the 991 started as a 2012.5 model, my guess is they show the 992 at Frankfurt, fall of 2018, for a spring\summer 2019 release as a 2019.5 model year.

991.2 GTS (which is the end of cycle model) came out as a 2017 model year. I expect the 992 will be a 2019 model available for order in March 2018 for a June 2018 build date and in dealerships no later than August 2018.

If you have been following the spy shots of the 992 mule, the development of the car is well along.

I have no inside baseball......just looking at past trends and paying attention to what is going on.

I think it would accelerate it. They need to generate excitement. After all, these cars are mostly an emotional experience. Not a financial or practical one.

That's my guess as well. That would mean the 991.2 would be produced for three model years.
