I do not even get them on the PCM. I tried a few times and then gave up long ago. Figured I had enough tech distractions anyhow and just check my phone when stopped.
go to your Settings -> Bluetooth -> find the connection you have established, press "i" for the settings specific to that connection -> set Show Notifications to ON
then have your wife send you yet another test text.... :-)
A person I know well was looking down at his PCM to read a text, when he hit a man on a bike. Bike rider is dead, my friend is serving 7-10 years, and will carry the guilt for the rest of his life! Read it when you're home or pull over.
If this got through to ONE person, it was worth my time.

A very good reason to turn it off. I'm very sorry this happened to your friend, and as clunky as the feature is it's totally not worth it.
I had it on initially, but it was distracting. First the cell phone would alert me, then the PCM. Looking at it on the PCM took a few steps and I only did it when I was stopped somewhere. My OCD made seeing the little message symbol appear. Because I was moving, I would have to stop to clear. There, I've come clean. I turned the feature off. I'm in a better place.

Never read it in the car unless I'm pulled over and I rarely pull over. Been almost hit by people read or texting on their phones.
No text or email is more important than a human life and I like driving my Porsche safely and undistracted.
Yeah, I could care less. If somebody really needs me, they will call. However, with CarPlay you can have the text read to you and respond by dictation.
