First one CPO, decided I really missed manual and searched for "right" 7MT for a long time. With the .1GTS holding values so well early this year, I ordered a stripper .2GTS in manual. Supposed to be Atlanta delivery in early august

Very cool and a gorgeous car! The Club Coupe is such a special car!

Had dealer search the country for a month for the one I was looking for (black, 7MT, deviated stitching, full leather, 18-way seats). Leased it and intend to turn it in as soon as makes sense for the next P-thrill ride.

With my first car being a 72 VW Beetle, learning the history of its designer and seeing an 80's era 911 Targe, I had always dreamed of owning one. 10 years ago, the closest thing I could afford with a Targa top was a 72 914. In 2015, I was fortunate enough to fulfill that dream. Wanting a new Targa with a manual transmission, I had 2 options here in the states or wait until the 991.2 Targa's came out. Not wanting turbos, I opted for the black Targa 4 GTS at the dealership in Houston. It was spec'd out by someone who couldn't follow through on the original sale (divorce or something of that nature). Was spec's out nicely, not far off as if I had done it myself. Glad to have gotten one of the last generation naturally aspirated GTS's as well. Extremely fun car to drive. If it's not raining, the Targa top is open, whether it's 50 or 90 degrees outside.

Why surprised? It has to be even. For every used car, there had to be an original owner who bought or leased the car.

And up to infinite pre-owned buyers...

I've not spent over 6 figures on a car before as that is somewhat of a glass ceiling for me. CPO/Used opens up the market to a whole other demographic.

That being said - car prices overall have gotten stupid. 90K for a loaded M3/4? 60K for a regular 3 series? 40K for a loaded civic... just mind blowing to me. Although, that does make the 911 seem like a bargain; even new considering what you get.

I think the poll is skewed towards used. Most forum members are scrupulous buyers and either want a very special build (new custom order) or looking to get a good deal (me) on a mint 911. We'd have to see the data but I bet at least 1/2 of 991 transactions are bought off the lot. If true this implies buyers who don't care so much but want a status car. That is a lot of assumptions but I wanted to sound off.

The older the model, the heavier the skew on the side of used. But, this being the 991 forum and the 991 being the current model, balance should be expected.

I would think the average number of owners for 991.1 cars is well above 2...

built and ordered a 2015 Cayenne Diesel and found my 2012 C2S CPO on the lot and took delivery of both that day. Then traded the 2012 in on a better 2013 CPO 9 months later.

Ordered to my specs to a certain extent. I set a hard dollar amount for me to stop at.
