As the original owner? Some. Maybe. Not all systems harmonize among dealerships. Warranty stuff, yes.

As a third party? Generally no. Mainly due to privacy issues in the litigious USA.

That's been my experience too.

Try this:

Load the free MyCarFax app on your smart phone. Then run the VIN through the app. You might see service history.

No, in my experience in Florida at regional dealerships anyway. Warranty or recall service shows but not maintenance records. So tried to tie in an oil change or check last time I did one while in Melbourne and no one could look it up. It is frustrating since I service my car at both a Tampa dealership and one in Orlando but I cant cross compare when I did what. I can check it any where with Audi so I do wish Porsche could get this coordinated as well.

Like mmaturo, I ran into the same problem. I asked my local dealer to tell me when the brake fluid was last reported changed prior to my purchase from Salt Lake City last year, but he told me he didn't have access to their service records on the car. Seems odd to me that it isn't global, but that's what he said.

No. Only at the same dealer it was serviced at.

Service records don't tie into some national database.

What about getting the yearly service at a 3rd party? Best way to provide proof at trade in?

Save receipt with date, mileage and part numbers. Some indy shops stamp your book. You can also manually log the data into the MyCarFax app.

You can find out what warranty work was done at any Porsche dealer but not service records at another dealer.

porsche has all warrantee service records on internal system, any dealer can look up any car and see its history. If a dealer in dallas does tires, and brakes on a car, it doesnt show up to anybody else, its only if they do a replacement wiper motor under warrantee. when the warrantee falls off, no more entries.

If you are buying from a Porsche dealer, ask them to get the records from the other dealers. There IS a master history of the car that shows all the services, and the locations, but not what was done. Its called the vehicle history report. Any Porsche dealer can pull it. Then it's a matter of making phone calls between service departments and asking for the records to be sent over. This is what I did with my car.
