Found out that the 991 rear shock has five grooves which a snap ring to position the rear coils.

Does anyone know which groove is used oem? If it is any of the lower grooves has anyone removed the ring and position on the top ring?

Can anyone confirm the grooves and snap ring is on both the 3.8 and 3.4 models for the rear shock?
