Not a good tire day.

Was heading to get my front tires checked for balance when I must have ran over something on the interstate. Pumped it up and limped it to the tire place.

Hole in the sidewall..... can't repair. Only tire available is states away. Then to find out one of my front tires had some weird tread issue causing my vibration.

2 tires ordered to be delivered some time next week. Well thank goodness I bought the tire insurance when buying this set of tires. I always go back and fourth on whether to buy or not. Tires have less then 1000 miles on them.

I limped the car home on secondary roads filling up the tire often. Pulled into the garage with 7psi left. The Michelin is one tough tire.

My 1st flat in 20+ years.

Now to swap over to my other set of worn wheels/tires until arrival.

Picked up a nail in my C4 last year and plugged it-was in "that damn right rear tire".

The doming for drainage on most roads has them slanting to the right. As debris gets bounced around from hits on the road it tends to migrate to the right, so there is more debris on the right. Someone pointed out recently that the flow of rain also adds to this effect.

As was discussed in another thread the other day, the front tire tends to disturb nails/screws that are nicely laying on their side and can cause them to point up momentarily... aligning them perfectly for puncture by the rear tire. With more debris to the right, the back rear becomes to most frequent victim.

Believe it or not I am. The other 3 must have been compensating for having one tire going down.

Once Discount Tire said they wouldn't fix it. I decided to drive home filling it up every so many minutes when it would get down around 15 psi. I couldn't hurt the tire any more and I was on a lightly traveled secondary road so I could go slow and pull off when ever I needed a bit of air.

Swapped over to my old set of wheels and worn tires and took the whip out for a proper ride. All smiles again.

Exact same thing happened to me yesterday. Driving home and TPMS alarmed showing R REAR TIRE down 10 psi. I was on the interstate literally at the exit for Porsche Atlanta Perimeter, but being Friday at 3:30PM I was sure they wouldn't be able to deal with it. But they did, and I was on my way 90 mins later. Construction everywhere here in Atlanta.

I just finished a 600 mile trip on mostly back roads through farm towns and my biggest worry was a flat. No issues, but I carried 2 cans of sealant, a larger compressor, and 2 tire plug kits just in case!

+1 ... I had the replace mine also, ran over an old rusty craft knife blade
dropped in the street I suspect by some workers at a neighbors house!

Ha. Nothing keeping this fat boy down.

I changed back over to my old set of wheels and tires and I'm back on the road.

Rolled to Chattanooga this weekend.
