991.2 Recall "AH01"
As it has been previously discussed on tis forum, there is an open recall for virtually all 2017 variants of the 911 as well as Boxters and Caymans. The recall has the code "AH01". This is the text of the letter:
"Porsche understands that under certain conditions, the fastening screws for the fuel collection pipes could sheer off due to stress corrosion cracking. If the screws shear off, then fuel might leak into the engine compartment. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source may result in a risk of fire..."
So I believe that "under certain conditions" really means some very hard track driving. Leaving that aside, Porsche mailed this letter over a month ago (to me at least - but I presume it is a mass mail). However, dealers have not been supplied the part to actually carry out the repair and dealers are keeping a waiting list. There is no known ETA on it either.
I understand they want to get the notification out as soon as possible to reduce their liability, but over a month now with no ETA for some screws that may actually cause a fire? does that not seem backwards?

Mine is at Hoehn Porsche in Carlsbad, CA right now for this recall, 3 tech updates, and a leaking water pump... They didn't mention any issues with getting parts (except for the water pump which had to come from Germany). I should be picking it up today.

Got my recall in the mail two weeks ago. Called dealer the next day. Got a call from the dealer two days later and said bring your car in the recall parts are here. Already fixed and back out driving it.

Sucks to have a safety recall but I'm glad to hear folks are getting it fixed quite quickly.
When the recall 1st surfaced rumor had it that the engine had to be dropped.
Sounds like it wasn't true if the car can be repaired in 3 hours.
