I've a Carrera 2S with Pirelli P Zero's, the tyres will need changing soon and I'm trying to decide what to buy.

One big consideration is I'll driving across Europe in June, about two thousand miles in a week and a half.

What would you guys recommend? Stick with the Pirelli's or maybe the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S?

I got 2 911 on MPSS now, good for dry and wet road and track use.

4S is the replacement, so I assume it can only be better.

Pirelli PZ's are good but Michelin PS4S's are great.

Can't really go wrong with either.

Did your PZero's wear evenly?

If they didn't or got really noisy...... get an alignment done when you install your new set.

I would say the Michelin P4S for sure. Great tire that'll give you great dry and wet grip. Solid choice and one I'll be making myself when I need new tires.

Not sure, but the car has done just short of 19,000, 18k when I bought it.

They are noisy, but I have nothing to compare them to as I'm a first time owner and bought the car a month ago, add to that my daily drive is a Range Rover which is very quiet. I'll get them aligned when I get the wheels replaced just to be on the safe side.

I just picked up some Michelin PS4S's from TireRack but haven't installed them yet. They are supposed to really shine in wet grip over the other choices as well as being a bit better performing overall. It seems like they would be ideal for an extended road trip.

I'm getting pretty certain that my PZero's are starting to get a bit more slippy after only about 7k miles even though they appear to have good tread life remaining and are only about 16 months old. I've been considering checking the forums to see if others have noticed this behavior with PZeros; or maybe I'm just pushing them a little harder now that I'm fully adapted to the car. I think it is the tires though.

P Zero Z4 N1 - just purchased my second set of these, handles well in the wet and stops better in dry conditions (will pull over 1.35g on track - more than enough for the road ). Happy with them as OEM on the 991.2S as well - see last post in link below

Going to try the Michelin's, won't get them till June so they're freshly run in for the rally.

Note that the prior-generation Michelin PSS's often ran out of stock for many weeks at a time in some of our sizes. I'd recommend getting the PS4's sooner just to be safe and just waiting to install them a couple of weeks before your tour.

My PS4s are on and they're way better. Smoother, quieter and more compliant. I wouldn't go back on my road car. Hands down great choice. Got from Tire Rack.
