I had a Master Blaster but got rid of it. Worked ok, I just couldn't take the noise. Took all the zen out of washing my car. I prefer quiet. The technique I use, laying on and lifting off a laminated waffle weave microfiber then touching up with a smaller waffle weave, is very efficient. Faster, in fact, than what it was with the Master Blaster for me. I do hit spots that capture water, as well as the wheels, with spirts from my compressor using the Typhoon Air Gun. You would be amazed at what this does to supercharge the effectiveness of your air compressor. It's no ordinary air wand.

just try a batter powered blower and you won't go back. Return it if you don't like.

Those of you using the Masterblaster, have you used a leaf blower before ? Can you please give a little description what makes the masterblaster so much better. I have always used a leaf blower and if the masterblaster is that much better I would definitely spend the money to get one I just need a little more understanding what makes it so much better.

TIA

Pros vs leaf blower:

Control
Efficiency
Filtered
Warm
More focused and directed air stream
Less chance of hitting the car
Extremely effective on the wheels and cross drilled rotors
Cool factor (I think passerbys thought I was nuts for leaf blowing my car)

Cons:

Loud

I am a +1 with the little guy with the big helmet. I just use either foam ear-plugs or over the ear noise defenders to mitigate the noise.

That is why I went with the shoulder mounted blower with the long hose (See earlier post) -- I think it meets all the pro's with the exception of warm - which I admit would be nice -- don't think it as loud as the Master and definitely cost a lot less....

I used a Dyson hair dryer once and I looked like an idiot when my neighbours walked by me in the underground parking area

MasterBlaster is excellent. Little potential to damage car. Plus is capability to do the interior where dust finds all those little crevices. Makes a major difference on steel rotors regarding instant rust. After all Wayne Carini is the spokesman.

Air compressor tanks accumulate water and fine oil used to lubricate the compressor itself. There is usually a small valve on the tank to drain the water. When you see the oily mess that comes out of this valve, you won't want to be spraying you car with it. Now if you live a a very low humidity area, there will be less gunk in the tank.

You'll love it. It's my all time favorite thing I've ever bought my Porsches in over 14 years.

dry the car w/ micro towels and use leaf blower to go around all the cracks and mirrors, trim, etc to get the hidden drops. Wipe them with towel as you go. Air comp is good for drying brakes and suspension when you wash them out
