Default 4S Tire Pressure Setting Question

I've been looking into my perceived rough ride. Well I came across a number of threads on the "comfort tire" settings. It appears my tire pressures may be waaay to high which is making the ride harsher.

I went into the menu option and confirmed the comfort setting is on for my 20" summer tires. I have a 14 C4S with SPASM.

Current readout in cold garage is

33 FL 35 FR 42 RL 42 RR

When I look as the fill into it shows

+3 FL
+4 FR
+9 RL
+9 RR

"Comfort partly load." - what does this mean exactly?

So dumb question - does the "+" mean the tire is over filled? So +3 means I can drop by 3 lbs of air? And I can drop the rears by 9 lbs of air?

Based on thread's Ive been reading, 42 in the rears seems really high.

I sure hope I need to drop pressure which will make my ride more compliant fingers crossed

if you check the owners manual, or on the drivers door jam, it lists the recommended cold tire pressures for the various loads, your rears are *way* high... but get a decent air pressure gauge to set the pressures...

Yes lower them by that number and you will be amazed at the difference.

I run comfort PSI settings +1 and PASM on NORMAL most of the time.

Doh! Thanks Larry. Should have taken the last step to check the manual.
Comfort is 30/33. Obviously I need to go let some air out. Should have checked that while at the dealer yesterday....

I have a 4S with MPSS 20". I run 31 fronts cold pressure and 34 rears cold pressure. Ride is great and grip fantastic.

The dealers often are clueless. I got a replacement rear fitted Friday on my C4S (damn nails!) and they gave it back to me with 45 in the rears and I forget in the front but waaaay too high.

First thing I did when I got it home was to clean the rim (seriously....can't these techs clean off the gunk as they go!) and fix the pressures.

Well, I did reduce air to align to the comfort settings. Car is definitely improved. So glad for this forum to help me out! I would have had no idea.
