What did the dealer tell you to do for break-in? I was told to try to keep it under 5k rpm. Damn, I'm having fun, and can't wait to really let it rip.

Dealer said nothing. Sale was a lightning round. I've been staying under 4K per the manual. Only a couple of slips so far. I feel your pain on rippage limit. However it pulls really good up to 4000. Breaking in for me means taking it easier until I learn the car and setting in all components other than engine. N1 P-zeros are great in the rain so far.

Yes, the P-zeros are planted in any conditions.

I've not been able to find anything in the owner's manual concerning break in. Agreed, lots of usable power below 4k, just grab the next gear and keep accelerating. This car just wants you to drive it fast. Maybe one day I'll get used to the base car's power and will wish for the S, but I'll deal with it if it happens.

3000 miles? Nope. 2000 miles or 3000 kms.

Burning Brakes
When I took delivery of my 991.2 @ PEC I was given a similar car to drive (beat) on the track. It had 100 miles on the odometer. When I asked about this, this said that's all it needs then it's ready to go. Go easy for the first few hundred or so, building up to higher and higher RPMs, but don't wait 2000 miles to enjoy it. It's ready to go from the factory.
I was bouncing off the rev limiter in 2nd gear doing full circle drifts of the wet friction circle looking out the drivers window I was so sideways
If the cars needed more break in time why would Porsche put them on the track @ 100 miles?
This applies ALL the time, not just when new.

For all my vehicles I just drive normally and soon enough the car is broken in. Maybe I just avoid full throttle max acceleration high RPM stuff for awhile. I agree that cars nowadays have tight tolerances from the factory and do not need to be worn in as much as older cars. Break-in procedure is one of those endless debate topics though.
