Default Car washing question

Every time I wash my car, I lift the frunk to wipe down the hood edges. And every time I find a collection of suds and water surrounding the frunk latch which has an opening around it.

Does water that collects in this area and goes down the opening surrounding the latch weep to the outside of the car? I would hope it is an outboard drain as opposed to the water seeping internally.

Any intelligence on this?

If I recall from the last time I had the front bumper cover off that area drains down to the ground almost directly. If you are worried about water not draining the black plastic trim can be pulled up to inspect. Just start at the back sides of the frunk pulling up moving towards the front piece to avoid breaking any tabs.

Yup I see it every time also. Collects right at the hood hinge. I always just wipe it dry. Like at the bottom of the door sills.

The amount of seepage should be so small that there is no need for a drainage system. Most people aren't as meticulous as you and aren't even aware of the seepage.

Based on my reading of this forum, I can't say I agree with that statement.

Default Thanks all

I am good with it now. I love answers that come back as "that's normal".
