Advice Please on a Smoother Ride!
Should I put better tires on my 20 inch Carrera wheels like Michelins or replace them with 19 inch Carrera V wheels.
Looking for a smoother and quieter ride.
I currently have Pirellis.

See if you can swap wheels and tires from a base Carrera.
Base Carreras come with either the Advan Sports, or the Goodyear Asymetrico. I took off my Advans after 500 miles and stuck on Bridgestone RE-71R's for handlinding upgrade, but I don't like the noise upgrade. If you were in South Florida I could sell you my stock Advans in my garage with 500 miles on them.
Personallly I like the look on the base Carrera wheels better.

The very first thing you should check is your inflation pressures. There are quite a few threads about this, but in summary:
The dealers tend to set the cars to "full load" pressures that make for a stiff ride. Some people see this number on the door sticker but don't notice the additional text saying to consult the manual for other pressures.
Full load is 36/44. I tend to use the Comfort partial load pressures of 31/37. Either check the manual for the various settings, or use the stalk-controlled multi-function-display to change your load/comfort settings and check Fill Info for how much to change your pressures buy for the new settings.
The ride quality difference is huge and I find I'm just fine with the performance at Comfort for most sporty driving. I'll increase them to non-comfort pressures for something like autocross though.
As kayjh asks, it would also be good to know your tire's ages and which suspension, norm/PASM/SPASM. Our tires start stiffing up pretty significantly after 4 years (or less with a lot of high heat cycles).

I am running 19's with comfort mode settings on my 2013 991. I can't make a direct comparison because I have not tried 20's on my car, but the 19's give a very smooth ride.
