Default What did you pay for an oil change at dealer?

I just called my dealer to schedule the annual service and was quoted about $340 (after tax) for just an oil change on my 2013 Carrera S (the parts are not more than a $100). I looked at my older receipts from the same dealer last year and it was around $250. They said their prices went up recently. An indy shop in town quoted me $180.

Would like to hear back from anyone who did an oil change recently at a dealership as to how much you paid.

Just under $200. I provide my own oil (Mobil 5W50).

just over 200 incl tax for the oil change alone. If it is the 1y service then $340 is about right.

Is $200 just for labor?

My car is a 2013. The quoted price was only for the oil change (and resetting the service indictor)

I will have to consider that going forward. Is there a way to reset the service indicator without the software?

To reset service light, I purchased this:

Amazon Amazon

others have purchased other units, and there is discussion here:

https://rennlist.com/forums/991/9408...ch-x-431r.html

I asked my dealer to reset the service light after I changed the oil - they said they would not reset any light unless they did the work themselves, I told them to go blow and purchased my unit from Amazon. Pays for itself in one oil change for me.

I believe a yearly service includes a couple more items in addition to your oil change. One could certainly argue the additional services performed are not worth much, but it is still time the dealer will charge for.

As to how much oil a 991 takes on the change, it is supposed to be 7.5 liters. I always change the oil myself, letting the rear tires sit on Rhino ramps. The front tires are on the ground. I suppose this angle allows a little bit more oil to drain out of the sump, since the drain is near its front edge. Being in the US, I use quarts of Mobil 1 5w-50. After adding 8.0 quarts, driving more than just to heat the oil, the measurement indicates two levels down on the virtual dipstick. From this point I have to be very careful adding any additional oil, as in 1/4 quart intervals. One time I thought I had it just right, but ended up with slightly too much oil. As you may guess, it is a little tricky to drain a cup or so of oil- best to have a long 8 mm hex to keep your hands out of the way!
