That 996 was in great shape! Looks like it was well taken care of and your are the equivalent of a drug dealer... your friend got his first fix and will be hooked since he got in cheap on a well loved and cared for example.

PO took great care of the car for its first 10 years. First time I showed my friend the car he said he would buy it when I decided to sell. True to his word it only took him 10 minutes to pull the trigger when I told him the opportunity was at hand. I am sure his wife will curse me at some point but his sons will surely remember summer rides in the back seat of dad's 911.

Nice find! We all know the last real 911 were the 993s. Every pcar owner feels that about their model being the last real 911. I had a 993 when both the 996 and seven came out. Hearing horror stories about the 996, front headlight design and the iM bearing failures and Porsche,s lack of care to fix the problem made me stay away, among other reasons - kids. My 993 was as reliable as our land cruiser, until she met an untimely death. I am very happy you are in a 991. They are incredible. Enjoy! Btw, great color! I got weather tech floor mats to deal with our mud issues.
Thanks. PO only put 3700 miles on the 991 in the past 3 years. Still smells new.

Understand the 996 phobia. Like many models they have their issues but my experience, like your's with the 993, was all positive. I drove that 996 every chance I had and it never let me down.

BTW. Sorry to hear of your 993's untimely ending. Hopefully it went out the way it was intended....driving down the road.
