Default Remedies for that nasty cabriolet blind spot...

The Cabriolet has a *very* nasty blindspot with the top up; the combination of
the top, the passenger headrest and the small rear window results in a massive
blindspot in the space one might merge right into (especially on the freeway).

Even adjusting the passenger side mirror doesn't really help, anyone know of any aftermarket solution to resolve this dangerous blindspot?

Wow Larry I could not convince myself to part with the $$ just yet. PLEASE let me know how that works for you and whether it solves the problem or just sort of helps it.....

BTW ... Thanks for trying this .... well, as long as you give us a report

yup ... the only way I can be somewhat comfortable is to put the top down .... and that is not always convenient....

I don't have a 911 Cab but have had a 981 Boxster since 2013.
Even with the suggested mirror alignment there is a huge blind spot on each side with the top up. There was no LCA available in 2013 for the Boxster.
So much so that for my 991.2 I ordered a coupe instead of a Cabriolet.
Much better visibility in traffic and LCA helps.
Only problem I have encountered with LCA is changing lanes with another car then trying to occupy the lane you thought was clear even if you looked over your shoulder. But I found that if LCA starts to blink, stop your lane change. Saved me a number of times now on Illinois Tollways and Expressways.
I would be interested to know if anyone installs the SunCoast mirror options both left and right and you experieince.-Richard
BTW, my technique for a lane change in traffic with the Boxster top up is to lean forward and look over either shoulder for the best possible view and listen for any horn!

will do - looks like I should get the mirror circa tax day, hopefully I can figure out how to DIY it... I will try and post before/after pictures.

I think the camera was not available on earlier cars. I have sensors only.

Do you have one or both of these Lex? Waiting for Larry's thoughts and DIY pics but I'm thinking pax side only. Though I'm not that unhappy with just adjusting right side mirror out a bit more than most cars I have driven. And I have a pretty high sitting height even with seat set low, so my blind spot view is not too bad. TIA, Rob

I think the backup camera is standard on 2017 models, not sure about earlier cars.
