Default Anyone go from 991.1 to Panamera to 991.2?

Bought a new 991 in 2013, traded to 14' Panamera 4, now contemplating a 991.2. 3 kids, but this will be my only car (DD). Wife has 17' GLS550. 4 year old, 9 year old (4'8) and 11 year old girl (5'0"). At most, would have to have the 9 and 11 year old in car with me (one in front passenger and one behind front passenger).

I like the panamera space. Was underwhelmed with the 17 Panamera 4s in term of feel between my current Panamera 4...It is paid off, so spending 130K for the car I want doesn't seem to make sense if it isn't much different (but maybe I need the sport package).

Anyway, just wondering if anyone is in the same boat. I figure I can have the 2 bigger ids in the car until they are about 5'6" and 5'8" after that, too much. By then, I think, I can convince my wife to go with a 3rd car (we have plenty of room, she is just against it)...Daughter should be 14 to 15 by then, so close enough for learners permit so 3rd car works then.

Robkruns -

We have very similar garages..... I've had a Panamera 4S for about 2 years now and just picked up a '14 911S as a fun/weekend car and my wife has a GL450!

I love both the Pcars and typically drive the panamera on a daily basis. I travel a bit and do a number of airport runs and think those are best handled by the panny. The 911 sits waiting in the garage for those particularly nice days or weekends.

I just drove a brand new Panamera 4S at the dealership and had a similar reaction to yours - I was not that impressed.

If you could convince your wife to go for 3 cars you could keep the Panamera and pick up a 911 and have the best of both...

Hi John,

I am working on convincing her. We have the space, but she just thinks having 3 cars is silly. I think I could live with the 911 again as an only car, but would be looking for a 2nd car for me, in two years or so. I am going to keep working her a bit or just hang on a 4 more years until my daughter starts with her drivers permit (will need 3 cars by then).
