Is there a way to time the 0 to 60 speed with the cars electronics or do you need a special device?

This is from the manual:

tick vehicles with PDK
tick engine at operating temperature
tick SPORTS PLUS mode activated

1. Press the brake with your left foot
2. Quickly press down the accelerator as far as it goes and hold it down. The engine speed will level off approx. 6000 rpm. A message indicating that LAUNCH CONTROL is active appears on the multi-function display.
3. Release the brake within a few seconds

There is a lot more going on than meets the eye - there is interplay between the engine management system SC - PDK - PSM - E-PTV (and indeed the active engine mounts and changes to RAS - PDCC settings).

The difference in meters between a LC equipped car and non LC equipped car is about 5m to 8m on a pull to 60mph

If you have Sports Chrono - you can download the data via the USB port - its good to .1s increments (it logs all sorts of info from steering angle to lateral Gs)

I don't believe so - as long as you have SC - the information is recorded.

 

I've downloaded and analyzed this data on both my prior 997.2 and my current 991.1 after autocrossing just for grins. On those cars it is only captured at one second intervals, I don't know about the 991.2's update rate. Although there is no time tag on my car, I can tell it is one second since the number of rows captured where the car is working hard (I've deleted the sitting-still rows) matches up with the length of the autocross run.

Here's an example after I loaded the data into Excel and applied some conversions to make it more readable. I think I may have removed a couple of columns that I wasn't interested in... I didn't keep the raw data.

Storrm rune you are correct it is 1 second intervals. You have deleted a few columns e.g. longitudinal acceleration, mE, mN etc
