Gts discounts?
Hi all,
As title suggests, any of you who have ordered a GTS,have you managed to get a bit of discount? I managed to get almost £3000 off my first order of a .2 Carrera S, as a finance contribution several months ago, but since I placed my order with a GTS i have been only given £500 contribution and this was only as a gesture as they damaged my Carrera S which I rejected, and I'm now waiting for delivery hopefully mid June for a GTS..

I have been on the phone to a different dealer today, to see if I could squeeze anymore from them, best they would do was £1000 and an extra track day which also meant a longer waiting period..
Is an extra £500 worth the extra wait.. Probably not..

No idea about UK dealers, or .2 GTS (so no relevance to your question at all, but I like to hear myself ramble), my long-time SA (since 2002) offered a "$500 Repeat Customer Discount" on my 991.1 GTS order in Feb 2015. I laughed and he looked uncomfortable and went to get the manager, who came over and tried to explain "hot demand...limited allocation...lots of repeat customers wanting one" etc. It took an hour of wrangling but I wound up getting about $3500 off on a $139k build. A pittance in the grand scheme of 911 pricing, but it felt like a moral victory at any rate.

It's rather typical though as salesman go, they always seem to cover there rears with bulls crap ...nice to hear you got at least a bit of discount.

I think that if you guys are a little patient you will find that the sellers' market being claimed by dealers will soften. I do not believe that the 991.1 GTS was a limited production model, and I cannot imagine that the .2 will be either. I was told the same drivel some dealers are using now: that the GTS is a limited production model, lots of demand, and that dealers would get very limited allocations. In the end, Porsche made the 991.1 GTS for two model years, roughly the same period of time they made the 997.2 GTS for model years 2011-12. I'm not trying to take anything away from the new GTS; it certainly looks to be a great 911.
Like NoGaBiker, I had to fight for every dollar off. In the end, though I was still somewhat offended, I was granted enough of a discount to go forward. However, had I shopped more of the other dealers within a reasonable distance- and had I been more patient and willing to call the dealer's bluff, I could have saved a significant amount of money. We all have to remember what a 1% price difference is on a $130-150k car Thinking about the difference between 1% or 2% off, vs 7% will have a big impact on what I do if/when the time comes to buy another new Porsche.
I may be a cantankerous old curmudgeon, but if there is a next time for me, I will shop the Continental US. Just hang in there. It's business for them. For us, it's much more personal, no matter how hard we work to convince ourselves otherwise.

When I spec'ed my 2016 Targa GTS, I got 5% off (repeat customer) and it was supposed to be "the last of the non-turbo" 911's.
I agree that waiting will only be to your advantage. But then again, "the way-a-ting is the hardest part..." apologies to T. Petty.

General convention is a good/repeat customer courtesy discount is on order of $2500 (not GT cars).
I got $5K on a 997 GTS when they were just launched, and $3K on a '16 981 GTS with a little forceful asking.
Not dealing on a .2 so YMMV

I asked my SA what discount I could get and he gave me $4000 off a C2GTS with low options. Might have been able to squeeze harder but was expecting zero so pretty pleased. Will be my third car from him.

I received a 6% discount on a custom build MY2016 TARGA GTS. (Ordered in June 2015/ Delivered in Nov. 2015) I am a repeat customer and was told by the GM that they only had 2 allocated to them. I thought 6%.

Hi All,
I'm looking at a MY18 Targa GTS custom order, and my local dealer is telling me that they won't go below MSRP. Has anyone else ordered a Targa GTS recently? If so, how did you fare?
