"What do they do with those cars "after"? Anyone know?"

As I understand it they are bid out to Dealers who then CPO them before being offered for sale.

Enjoyed the experience as it allowed me to try the 991.2C versus my .1GTS both MT. I will be back to try the GT4 in a couple of months as it answers many questions.

Going there in two weeks (son looking at colleges). I signed up for the 90 minute driving session (991.2S) and think it will be fun. Have never done any track events, so a good introduction. Thought about the Turbo vs GT3 drive, but then I would want to upgrade. . . .

I would agree that the value of the driving depends on experience, and maybe best suited to an "intermediate" driver. A novice (like my wife) could be intimidated by the lack of runoff on the track (much of it has guard rails right at the pavement edge). An expert may be underwhelmed, and looking for more after a few laps.

Porsche West Broward had a CPO 2016 GTS with about 7500 miles that I was interested in. Turns out all the mileage was put on at the "Porsche factory in Atlanta" which I'm assuming is the PEC. I told the sales associate that I'd be willing to consider it at a steep discount given its history, but he wasn't willing to budge.

The cars are all wrapped during their 3 month stay there. They get cleaned up and sold at the Porsche only dealer auction, then sold as cpo cars.

I was more concerned about the wear and tear on the engine having been wrung out on the track on a regular basis.

I agree, wouldn't want one for my own but that's an impressive endorsement of pdk, knowing how many launches the cars get every day.

The main instructor/manager stated that they sell them to dealers.
He stated that he tries to spec these cars predicting demand so he can sell them later
also this entity has its own budget , so he is responsible for loss/gain etc

It is in perfect condition, had all the options I wanted and in addition to the 6 years of warranty I was able to get it for $20k off (msrp $124). They have the cars wrapped in clear bra as well, so another expense sparred that was added to the pro's column. Only downside to that is they do the headlights and I know there's an ongoing debate about headlights delaminating. Figure I won't be removing that to avoid any issues.
Headlights delaminate with or without clear bra. When I had mine replaced under warranty the service writer told me they have had brand new cars come off the truck with delaminated headlights.

The track time is absolutely worth it. You spend the whole 1.5 hrs in the car on different parts of the track. You can do whatever section you want, as long as you want.

Any time behind the wheel of Porsche is worth it! A couple of the guys I track with have completed all the Sport driving school classes at Barber and some have spent a day at PEC. Apples and Oranges, like a track day and autocross. Both fun, but different.

sort of puts the "break in" recommendation to the test, if a car with less than 1,000 miles was used as a Porsche experience vehicle. I will have to make a mental note to look at the mileage of the car I get to drive. I know doing launch control many times on a 911 with a few 100 miles will make some folks cringe

I plan to get my 1.5 hrs worth, have to at least have the tires or engine smoking a bit

Yep, I was there about 3 weeks ago and was told that they move them out after about 1,000 miles.
