zaino or waxing clear bra
my agate grey 991s came with a protective film. i do not know the brand but my question is, there is considerable swirlies on the car/film... will waxing or zaino clear this up? are there things i need to be aware of before i do this? do different brands of film require different approach?
thanks in advance for any advice you can offer.

If you're lucky it will be the self healing type that might fix itself if you pour some hot water on it. I would take it to an xpel or suntek installer to see if it has any warranty on it.
Or better yet just take it off and call it a day .

Wax does not clear swirls. Only a polish can. I have heard some good retailers can polish out PPF but I'm not sure I trust that..

Maybe the swirls are under the film?

The self healing film has been around for about six years so it sounds like you don't have it and there won't be a warranty if you are the second owner and it was on the car when you bought it. Film will hide swirl marks since its just like putting a new clear coat over them, if you are seeing swirls its on the film.

I definitely start with a good detailer who does paint correction. If you post your location I bet RL will come thru with plenty of recommendations.

take it to a installer and ask first. But my guess is for whatever reason, the film was buffed. now it has been scratched. I would guess the only way to make it better is to fill the scratches with wax. Wax it.

I have random orbital buffed my Xpel Ultimate with polish and sealant and the outcome has been great. Talk to an installer that can identify your film and then you will know what can or can't be done.

so the first thing to do is to have a pro look at it... i get the feeling he will recommend something he ought to do, vs something i can do myself.
my car is a 12.5 991s so it would have been installed no more than 5yrs ago. therefore it is possibly the self healing type.
i am in westchester county NY. any recommendation for a good installer would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
