+1 for high temp BBQ. Two years later they still look perfect. Took 1 hour to do four coats and cost $6. Let dry just enough so they were not tacky and exhaust heat cures the paint.

Resurrection again here since this is what I was thinking too, figure you can always go the ceramic route if it fails/peels.
Already have plenty of brake cleaner, degreaser and some BBQ/Hi-temp cans around somewhere.
With all the other P-tax items I've paid for over the years, an occasional free improvement is nice.

I like to save money and get a bargain as much as anyone else; however, for about a $100 how can one not get it done professionally, which will last much longer and look way better than with a rattle can:

Sorry for the extreme post-humous bump here, but I am considering having my PSE tips ceramic coated and was curious if there had been any recent findings on driving around sans tips for a few days and impact to rear bumper cover?

I drove mine around for over a week while tips were being done. Zero problem.

I recently had my tips ceramic coated for my .1 and am curious if anyone else who has does this ran into tolerance issues. The ring is super tight that goes into the exhaust tip and no way will it fit onto the exhaust pipe. Trying to see if I am missing something obvious? Thanks

Curious if anyone knows: Are the chrome tips for the 991.2 (PSE or regular) actually chrome—or just polished stainless?

Bought a set of the factory black tips (looks like black chrome or some sort of high-gloss ceramic), and have been considering stripping them to go brushed stainless…if that's what is under the black coating. Kind of hate to ruin a perfectly good set of tips, so maybe I sell these and buy a pair of the "chrome" ones to knock the polish off of with steel wool or similar.
