Porsche: Decades of Disruption, Airing tonight (2/26) at 6:30 pm EST on CNBC
Tune in to watch Porsche: Decades of Disruption; a documentary that traces the lineage of iconic Porsche models that defied convention and defined generations. Airing tonight at 6:30 pm EST on CNBC.
Ha ha. Yep. It was Porsche produced. They have done several like this. I watched it a few minutes ago but I still loved it!
Of course they left out the 914, 928, 924, 944, and all variants of the 986/987/981 (and many other Porsches) Granted none of these were "disruptors" except the Boxster.
Gosh I wish I could get into a Carrera GT! Best Porsche ever.
Eh, I dunno. The 928 was pretty radical. Besides being the intended heir to the 911's place in the lineup, nothing else on the road really looked like it.

I agree. But it was a failure and was not a "disruptor". I think the Cayenne and certainly the Macan were much bigger disruptors in the Porsche world. Boxster too. 928? Nope. Although it probably facilitated the transition of the 911 from a sports car to the GT luxury cruiser that it is today.
It's funny really how current Porschephiles talk about the modern 911s as "GT cars" as a put down, as if somehow the older models were raw edge race cars. Excellence had a story on the 67 911S (the first) and all the car magazines of the era referred to the 911S as a GT car. They also complained about all those 911 handling characteristics that are so praised today. Guess the 991 was built to address the complaints of 1967 and not the wants of 2017.
