Getting a car like a Targa 4 GTS allocation is obviously going to be harder because there isn't enough demand for that car to even justify one allocation per dealer in the U.S. Many dealers probably don't even want that allocation, so that buyer is likely going to have to do some calling around to find one or get their dealer to do a swap.
But the standard GTS coupe is not going to be hard to get at all, at no more than MSRP. It wouldn't shock me if certain markets might hold on full MSRP like they did late in the last GTS run, but a premium on a standard 991 is laughable. The GTS is already overpriced for what it is; paying a market premium would be nuts.
I have an opportunity to get a Targa 4 GTS but am irritated I can't to PTS with the SportDesign rear spoiler. I wonder if my salesperson can pull it off.
Per my dealer, there are no sport design rear spoilers available on 2017 GTSs. I have an order in for 2017 C4 GTS and Porsche deleted the SD option when we submitted and told my SA that they are not available. Will be for 2018 builds after the sumer Anyone hear this also ?
Any thoughts on my build? It's somewhat of a stripper...debating on adding Bose or sticking with the base sound system as I will likely place an after market unit in the car.
I'd pick manual if it was just me driving, but the wife insists it's a pdk.

We keep going back and forth on the 991.1 GTS (tough to find a car that is priced well/appealing) 991.1 Gt3 (no back seat) or a targa.
ill try to look at this when I get home but Bose is worth it for resell alone.

100 percent add bose. Also understand that given the price point, its better to have a little more than a little less, as people wanting these on resale will be looking for extra leathers etc etc. GT cars can get away with it to a larger degree though.

Will add Bose.
My understanding is that the standard GTS interior (not the 7k upgraded) includes quite a bit of leather and alcantara. Granted not the contrasted stitching. In fact lots of alcantara that can be deleted to leather if selected.
I'm not really concerned about resell and I did read there was nearly an 80% loss in options noted in STG's hot for sale thread. IMO low option is the way to go. May even opt to lease and run a portion through work.

Is the process for getting PTS different on a non-GT car? Getting it on a GT car is like completing a triple bank shot in pool.

STG is right about certain things. Something like Bose will kill a sell almost immediately. If you lease, of course it doesn't matter but I would recommend playing it safe. Your dealer will strongly recommend Bose as well.
I'm sure you're well under MRM anyway.
why are the residuals so low for the gts ?...currently 58% for 24 months 15k miles +5 for 5k miles per yr
Is it because it is assumed that they are being taken to the track ?
I am getting 6% off on a my2017 custom build..deal is not sealed yet
^^^ not because they assume track use. All Porsche leases are expensive. Low residuals, until you see it back for sale on the lot for sale after the lease it finished. Then you've realized that you've paid through the nose.
