GT Porsches must have LWBs. It's not the same without them. Had them on my GT4 - fantastic seats

Cars like the Turbo and Carrera are a little more like grand touring type cars (though immensely capable performance cars). 18-ways fit the character of these cars better.

I really wanted to like the 14 ways. I like the way they look better and they are easier to get in and out of (not to mention cheaper and without need for leather back upcharge). Tried both out and the 18 ways were just sooo much more comfortable (for me). Really love the way they feel.

I just noticed my 18 ways don't have leather backs.

Both my 911's have had 18-ways, a 997 C2S with black interior and my current 2014 911-50 with Agate/Pepita. The silver seat backs have not bothered me one bit (in fact, I preferred the contrast with the black interior; in the current car I don't notice any clash with the Agate). I haver had occasional back-seat passengers in both, and frequently have stuff in the back seats during travel - no scratches at all.
As many have said, it is a matter of personal preference. I for one would not spend the $

I have the leather seat backs...GREAT OPTION......Mine are Black and come with deviated red stitching......matches the rest of the interior......the plastic backs make the car feel cheap......My MY1989 TURBO have leather backs.....just finishes the look of the car....
