I should check my AMEX Delta Skymiles for tows. Otherwise is AAA 100 mile tow typically reasonable cost?
The 100 mile tow is free if u have AAA Plus, and they will tow to the destination of ur choice. Oh, and it includes flatbed towing... And free gas and jump start. And free locksmith service. My recollection is it was about $150/year for wife and me for all cars, including cars we drive owned by others. It's a great deal, especial if cars out of warranty with no free roadside assistance.
Here is another hot tip.
Call 1800 no help and tell 'em you are on Highway to the Sun, or halfway up Pike's Peak or in Wash State rain forest, The Ahwahnee or pick one near you. I say its a lot like having a toothbrush that only does molars in the AM on third Sundays in odd months and leap year.
Oh, and if they replace a tire the pain will cost you your next car.

I also have Emergency Roadside service the State Farm. My agent claims I do not need AAA but I will do some comparisons. Thanks for the info.

I had a flat tire in the city and called Porsche roadside assistance, they quoted me an hour and half until someone would be able to tow the car. AAA was able to do it in 20 minutes.
I was at a friends place in Saylorsburg, PA. I picked up a nail in the road. Luckily we discovered the tire was flat while at the house.
We called Roadside. They quoted an hour and a half. They arrived 2 hours after the call. It didn't bother me since I wasn't planning on driving for 5 or 6 hours anyway. However, If i had to wait on the road in an area I wasn't familiar with for 2 hours - without a bathroom - or access to food or beverage if need be - I'd be pretty upset.
The same went from my Mercedes. Once I waited 3 1/2 hours with my sister.
Ridiculous.
There should be some sort of ultra elite service that comes with these high end cars - I often ask myself how a wealthy businessman worth 500 million bucks would feel sitting there helpless. I assume he'd have someone come out to pick him up and replace him in the car to wait. Ah - fantasy life.
Sorry! My post was about the Porsche service. It is virtually useless if your problem is not warranty, near a dealership or involves tires. If you have a problem in any of the places I mentioned in the post how far do you think it is to the nearest dealership? Start with Hwy to the Sun.
Hey Gary, I love your landing places.
I was on my way from SCar coast to Asheville in 96 in an RV when the hurricane flooded the river and the mountain hwy and took out the famous BBQ joynt. Did they ever rebuild the joynt?
So, from mini golf madness to mansion magnificence!
Were you at the 81 Parade?

Don't know which joint you speak of and the mtn place is in Cashiers. Love Asheville though - craft brewery capital of the Eastern half U.S. And real golf at the beach, mini is for tourists.

He'd have one of his staff bring him one of his other cars.
Between Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head you are in the golf (and tennis) capitol of the world. Only the Monterey Peninsula even comes close.
However, Myrtle Beach has pretty amusing zoning on the coast road. Goes something like this. Each intersection has 4 corners. They are occupied by 2 mini-golf courses, 1 fast food store, 1 t-shirt beach paraphernalia store. Punctuate that 10 miles in either direction by filling in between the lights. Fast food, t-shirts, mini-golf, repeat for 10 miles with an occasional gas station. I once counted mini-golfs and think there were 80 in 12 miles.
Asheville and all roads leading to are fabulous. 81 Parade a great event and fond memory.
The BBQ joint that landed in the river was at the crown of the road near Asheville. Don't remember the name but it was the epitome of Carolina Q.
