Default Battery Tender Plus or .....?

About to purchase my umpteenth Battery Tender Plus. This time it's for my 991.1 GTS Targa. Any compelling reason why I should consider Porsche's battery tender before pulling the trigger?

Does the CTEK have any advantages over the Battery Tender Plus? The latter has served me without fail, across a myriad of car makes/models, for two decades.

I have a CTEK 4.3, full kit with all accessories. Porsche's was a 2.4, but now they offer a 5. But it costs about double the 4.3 on Amazon. So I'm still convinced the 4.3 is the way to go

Never used it so I can't comment. Been using the CTEK now for 3 years without problems. Sometimes up to 3 months.

The Porsche-branded charger even comes with instructions with Cetek printed on them. No mystery here.

Dealers in Canada seem to charge $900.00 for PDI. My dealer charges $1,299 and includes all weather floor mats, an integrated trickle charger, Porsche hat, Porsche key fob and a die cast Porsche car. I got the rediculous documentation fee removed but they wouldn't budge on the PDI. Please tell me the charger isn't $99.00 installed.

Porsche standard is also CTEK:

Why the heck would you need to "install it?" I take my CTEK and just plug it into an wall outlet and the other end into an outlet in the 911 (cigarette lighter in a smoking-package equipped car; in the passenger floor outlet otherwise).

So, $160 CAD for the part. I have a trickle charger in my BMW as part of PDI. It comes with a fixed port in the lower air dam. I just use the provided cable plugging one end into the port and the other one into the wall. No need to fiddle with anything. I assumed the Porsche charger (CTEK) is the same. Hard to believe they'd charge me for the charger and then throw it in the trunk for use later?

I use the Battery Tender Plus on two of my Porsche without any issues. They are quite reliable and work just as well. I have also used the CTEK also on other Porsche without issues.

It is your choice and you wont go wrong.
