That's what I figure. Although sometimes upgrading within a particular variant of car is easy, because you're just replicating how the factory did it.

Edit: Just looked at the diagrams, and it indeed looks like the .2 rear hubs are different -- they're cast with an attachment bracket for the RWS actuators. So this mod is probably a no-go unless you want to spend crazy money.

I actually think the computer pieces will be the most difficult. Mechanically you can just buy parts and probably bolt on most of it.

Minor Update:

Still waiting on a part.

Update 2/17 - It's here, it's here. The PDCC fluid tube should be replaced today and car buttoned up for a late pick up.

Well almost done. I'll pick it up tomorrow.

Attached video is the tech bleeding the system.

Well I got out of the Porsche Service department with both kidneys intact.

PDCC Tank Replacement - $723.60
Belt Replacement - $135.95
Front AWD clutch fluid change - $245.21
Brake fluid change - $123.39

Received - $281.30 in Porsche Club and other discounts.

And then..... some customer satisfaction package where I got to pick some swag from the Porsche goodies. Got the RS2.7 office set (mouse, pad and usb) and a Martini Racing umbrella.

So just a little over 1K for my service this week. In looking at the labor charges they were pretty much all partial hour charges except for the bottle replacement so they didn't double charge here and there for labor to do other maintenance items.

Plus the car was clean from tip to tail and wheels inside and out.

So a very good dealer experience.

Thanks for sharing the pdcc bleeding video and the costs involved. I had no idea that this service was required @6/60k. Looks like mine will need done next year.

In typical Porsche form you have to remove the rear half of the car to replace a filter

If everything goes as planned the bleeding step is not needed but since the one tube/hose needed to be replaced and the system was left open for a few days while waiting for the part...... the tech did the bleed procedure to ensure no leaks or any air trapped in the system.

I will be interested to hear how other PDCC bottle replacements go. The tech said the book time is not accurate at all for such a PITA job.

I got a quote from a shop in SoCal LA area for about $900. My Dealer charged me a similar price, so I went there. (Rector in SF Bay Area)

Is PDCC standard on the 991 cars? I’m wondering how I can tell if I have this option(if it is one), or don’t.

Not standard. If you remove the engine cover you will see the top of the bottle located on the left.

But you could just run your vin through the vin decoder and it will come up as an option.

What fluid does the PDCC take? My car is 7 years old but only has 42k miles. Not sure I want to replace the PDCC reservoir just yet.

I guess you justified that one.

I put it on my Porsche. I don’t care about complexity to maintain. I will take the little better performance and the race shop would be happy to sell you something similar, but different.

I guess that’s why these things are options. Some people want them and some people don’t.

When you say “belt” needs to be replaced....are you talking Serpentine belt?
thanks!
