It appears as though Porsche may have made a change to have steering wheels with black centers instead of matching the outer leather rim color. If you configure a mahogany or carbon fiber one, the configurator shows the matching leather center. If you pick either the standard GT wheel or multi-function wheel then the center is black.

Does anyone know what is going on? Is this because of a change in airbag suppliers? Were they using Takata? So maybe they now make them in-house and had to standardize on black unless the upsell on mahogany or CF...
